Today we’d like to introduce you to Lenore Mchugh.
Hi Lenore, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
My passion for working with children began at an early age, leading me to volunteer at a church daycare. Today, I create relevant learning experiences for students from first grade through their fourth year of college. As the mother of a differentiated learner, my professional investment in education has become deeply personal; I understand firsthand the importance of nurturing a child within their unique learning space. T.L.C. Learning Coach & Tutoring Services has been helping scholars for over 15 years; Idea Bar was formed from a deep desire to create organic learning experiences for our children. Originally, Idea Bar facilitated an annual one week day camp at Wekiva Island. The Idea Bar program has now expanded to embrace the homeschool community. The teaching teams have been curated to create a culture that has an abundance of joy and deep intentionality surrounding the instruction of our scholars. TLC continues to serve the Orlando area through tutoring and academic coaching. Idea bar continues to expand as we anticipate the opening of “Discovery Cottage,” in late July 2025.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
It has been challenging at times as a single mom to find the proper “fit” that afforded me the ability to care for my child, grow a company, and maintain our equilibrium. Coming up with capital to expand was an intentional, slow and necessary process. I have grown organically and deliberately at a slow pace. 2025 is the year that I.B and T.L.C are finally in a place ready to sprout. Buying property that had an accessory unit dwelling was a necessary step in the corporate evolution.

My best resources are the people around me(they are resourceful as well!). Ha!
