Today we’d like to introduce you to Katia Chrispin.
Hi Katia, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
Thank you—it’s truly an honor to be here.
I moved to the U.S. in 2009 with my family as stunt performers. While performing was a big part of our life, art has always been my personal language. It’s how I process the world and express emotions I can’t always put into words.
Now, years later, I’m finally giving space to that part of me. I’m a mother, an artist, and a woman chasing a dream—not just for myself, but for the two little humans who are my whole world. My children are my greatest inspiration and the strength behind everything I do. They remind me every day to keep going and never give up.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
It’s been far from easy—but every obstacle came with a lesson. Balancing motherhood, work, and creativity hasn’t always been smooth. There were times I felt invisible or torn between survival and self-expression.
But with time, I learned that it’s okay to start small, to start over, and to dream again. All of that—the pain, the hope, the resilience—has shaped me and lives in every piece I create.
Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I’m a modern abstract artist and certified Art Therapy Coach. I build my own canvases, add rich textures, and paint expressive pieces full of color and emotion. My art often reflects motherhood, identity, healing, and transformation.
Alongside my art, I’m certified as an event planner and love bringing beauty into people’s celebrations. I also enjoy making desserts as a creative hobby—it’s just another way I express love and bring joy to others.
But art remains at the heart of it all. Whether it’s through a canvas, a coaching session, or a shared creative space, I’m here to help people feel, connect, and find light in the chaos.
In terms of your work and the industry, what are some of the changes you are expecting to see over the next five to ten years?
Happiness for me is creating something that moves someone. When a person sees my work and feels understood or uplifted, that fills me.
But true joy is also found in my kids’ laughter, quiet moments painting, baking something sweet, or watching people smile at events I’ve helped create. Life doesn’t have to be perfect to be beautiful—it just has to be honest.
