Hi Laraine, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
After having my fifth child, I found myself lost in the beautiful chaos of motherhood. I was deep in the world of being a stay-at-home mom, working through postpartum, and trying to reconnect with who I was beyond the role of “mom.” Then came a trip to my happy place, Disney. I’ve been going to Disney since I was a year old, and that trip reminded me of the joy, peace, and sense of self I had been missing.
Planning that vacation reignited something in me. I’ve always found peace in the details, especially when it comes to Disney trips. A friend sent me a TikTok about a travel agency that was hiring and said, “This is so you.” She was right. I took a leap, and I didn’t just find a job. I found a passion.
But I wasn’t just a travel agent. I quickly became a part of something bigger. I served as a new agent coordinator, helped with social media strategy, and mentored other agents. I found so much joy in not only growing my own business but in helping others succeed too. Supporting others in their journeys became a passion in itself.
This journey has been personal in every way. I even converted my husband, who had never been to Disney in the first 30 years of his life, into a full-fledged Disney adult. Now our whole family is a little (okay, a lot) Disney-obsessed, and I love that we share this magic together.
After about a year, things really took off. My social media began to grow, and I built a community of clients I adore. Every family I work with means something to me. I take pride in every itinerary and every moment of magic I get to help create.
All this experience helped pave the way for the next big step: opening my own agency.
Today, I’m incredibly proud to be launching a travel agency alongside two amazing women, creative and empowering partners who share my vision. Together, we’re building something truly magical.
What started as a way to rediscover myself has turned into a full-blown dream career. I truly love what I do, and I’m honored every single day to make magical moments for others.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Not at all—but that’s what’s made it meaningful.
In the beginning, I was juggling a million things: learning the ins and outs of being a travel agent, trying to stand out in a competitive market, and balancing the chaos of being a stay-at-home mom of five. There were nights I stayed up working long after everyone had gone to bed, and mornings that started before the sun came up. I was pouring my heart into something that didn’t seem to be working and I started to feel like maybe this just wasn’t for me.
A few months in, I broke down. I remember saying, “I’m not good at this. I’m not getting bookings. Maybe I made a mistake.” I felt defeated.
But my husband never once doubted me. He reminded me of why I started and told me, “You can do this. You were made for this. Don’t give up now.” His belief in me, especially when I didn’t believe in myself, kept me going.
And it wasn’t just him… I found my tribe within my agency and through my long-time best friend. They helped me in every way. We really looked out for each other, pushed each other to be better, and encouraged each other to grow. That support made all the difference.
It didn’t turn around overnight, but it did turn around and really became something incredible. The road wasn’t smooth, but every bump taught me something. With the right support, patience, and heart, it led me exactly where I’m meant to be.
