Meet Vincent Thomas of St. Cloud

Today we’d like to introduce you to Vincent Thomas.

Hi Vincent, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
My love for supporting the community and enhancing the capabilities of youth developed over a 20 year career in the nonprofit industry. Most of the roles I occupied served underprivileged families in need of resources and opportunities. Education has been the backbone of most of these roles as I have been able to cultivate, implement, and facilitate unique program curriculum that prioritized growth in life skills, employment, digital literacy, and data analytics. This passion for learning fueled a joint venture with my friend, Arben, to create a school based STEAM after-school program called Steam Arena. Our goal with the company is to build a brighter future today.

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
Throughout the journey from development to our first enrollment, one of the biggest challenges has been getting the word out about our program and bringing a call to action for families. Building trust in the community is especially important when you are trying to provide services for children.

As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
I would say that I have been a jack of all trades throughout my professional career. I have a graduate education in Healthcare Administration. Over the course of the last 23 years, I have been a math/science tutor, sales manager, outreach worker, group facilitator, program manager, site director, data analyst, and systems administrator. In addition to my professional experience, I also run a photo booth company called The 360 Experience and a print shop called The Double A Studios.
I would say what I’m known for is my creativity and commitment. I love coming up with great ideas and supporting to see them realized.
I think what I’m most proud of is being able to create a good life for my family.

Are there any apps, books, podcasts, blogs or other resources you think our readers should check out?
There are a number of resources that I rely on to both entertain and inform myself. 2 podcasts in particular that I have been inspiring for me include The Mel Robbins podcast and Side Hustle School podcast.

One app that has really helped me exercise my creativity has been Canva. I have used Canva to support my creativity with merchandise designs and content overlays.
