Today we’d like to introduce you to Kay Melchiorri.
Hi Kay, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
Hello, I’m Kay, the owner of Kay’s Forever Frames! Photography is something new I’ve adventured into but for me, photography isn’t just a job; it’s a lifelong passion that took on a new meaning after the birth of my daughter. Wanting to balance my love for capturing beautiful moments with being present for her, I finally decided to turn my passion into my profession. My amazing husband has been my constant inspiration and support throughout this journey. Family, including our sweet fur-baby Benji, is everything to me, and I believe in the power of preserving those precious connections through photographs. I specialize in Pet, Wildlife & Nature photography but am looking to expand my talent to family, engagement & maternity/newborn photography as well!
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
I’ve definitely stepped out of my comfort zone with this journey. I am typically very shy, but it’s pushing me to be more outgoing in more ways than one! It’s been slow going for me but I am confident with more time, practice and patience I will soon get to where I’d like to be professionally.
Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
I’ve always been interested in art / creativity in some way or another since I was younger. Photography is finally giving me that sense of peace when it comes to creating. My main focus is wildlife and pet photography, but I do very much enjoy portrait photography as well including family, engagement, special milestones and newborn. I like to keep my work as natural as possible while still looking vibrant and polished! That is what I am hoping will have me stand out.
Where we are in life is often partly because of others. Who/what else deserves credit for how your story turned out?
My husband, Angelo, deserves all of the credit! He has been my constant since the day we met. He supports me as well as all my dreams to the fullest. I am beyond blessed to have such an inspiration by my side to not only push me when it’s needed but to also catch me when I’m falling. He encourages me in so many ways to chase my dreams and make them a reality. He truly is simply amazing!
