Rising Stars: Meet Donna Robinson of Orlando

Today we’d like to introduce you to Donna Robinson.

Hi Donna, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
I am a 40 something introvert, native Floridian that has a gift of administration and loves a good cup of coffee! I began my passion for writing released my first devotional series “Psalms Simple Prayers” in 2023. I am a music fanatic, and the lyrical poetic prayers of David stirred my faith to write the revelation into simple prayers anyone can pray.

I’ve never been much of a reader, but I knew this would change my perspective and open me up to more of what God has called me to do and be in my purpose. During the Covid era, I began journaling my thoughts and feelings because there were so much happening more bad than good. That’s when I believe I tapped into that; “MORE” which birthed my Build Become Balance blog.

Shortly after I began my content creation journey, A.T.L YouTube channel. Here is where I share a part of my world through Faith, lifestyle, reviews, travel, and more!

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
The road definitely has not been smooth. Along the way I have faced many challenges emotionally, procrastinating deadlines, not enough time in the day, imposter syndrome, writer’s block and the list goes on. I did not allow the struggles to be insecurities to quit! I now see them as lessons, opportunities, and blessings.

Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
District Chief Supervisor State Fire Marshal. As supervisor, I get to hone in on my organizational skills. This is exciting for me as I am naturally a planner! What I most known for amongst my peers are Administration. I used to run from it because of the extra effort to detail it took to get a thing done, but now I embrace it. It only makes me better because I now realize that no one can do it like I can so just go for it!

What I believe sets me apart from others is to always stay in my lane. I wrote a blog about this to the point “Why drive in a lane that is already taken, create your own and drive your path at your own pace.

Before we let you go, we’ve got to ask if you have any advice for those who are just starting out?
I once heard a Joyce Myers’s sermons entitled “Do it Afraid”. This has stuck with me ever since. Life always has challenges, there will never seem like not enough time in a day and your ever changing emotions and feelings will keep you stagnate. Progress will never happen without a start so I did it all afraid and here I am!

I wish I knew the concept of doing more with less. I thought in order to build in my creativity as an author, blogger, and content creator I required to have the latest and greatest of everything to get started. Finally, after a couple of years I scaled back and begin to notice my authentic creativity shine through. This truly has a bigger impact and influence on those who see it or read it.
