Today we’d like to introduce you to Jordan Salazar.
Hi Jordan, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
I started my barista journey back in 2019. I was in college at University of Central Florida and was looking for a part-time job while I was in school. I found a barista job at Just Love Café in Clermont, Florida, just before heading to GoldenHills Coffee in downtown Clermont. GoldenHills Coffee is where I really perfected my craft and my love for creating drinks and learning what it was all about. It’s more than pulling a shot or steaming milk — it allows you to connect with all walks of life. Frank and Tammi, the owners, really helped me learn the ins and outs of being a barista.
Fast forward many years — I had been working a job in business brokerage when I decided to lean into finding what I could do long-term that brought joy to my life. We started the process of opening a brick-and-mortar drive-thru in a small town in Lake County; however, things didn’t quite work out. That’s when I had the idea of opening up Green Pea Coffee, a mobile trailer. While it wasn’t originally what we had in mind, it ended up working out even better than we could’ve imagined. I owe it all to God’s timing. We didn’t have any expectations with this new venture, but we knew we wanted to bring good coffee to the folks in our area!
A bit of a side note — I was born and raised in Seattle, WA, and it was a goal of mine to bring that exceptional quality and a bit of that coffee culture here. Fast forward to now, we are loving every minute of it and are so blessed to be doing what we love.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
The years leading up to starting Green Pea Coffee were incredibly challenging. We had our hearts set on opening a brick-and-mortar drive-thru, but after countless issues with city council, permitting, and zoning, the dream kept getting pushed further out of reach. At times, it felt like a dead-end road.
But there’s always light at the end of the tunnel, and I truly believe that the hardest seasons in life often lead us exactly where we’re meant to be. As cliché as it might sound, I wouldn’t trade those years of obstacles for anything. It was through facing those challenges that we’ve ended up exactly where we are today!
Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your business?
Green Pea Coffee is a handcrafted mobile coffee trailer based in Central Florida, proudly serving everything from classic drip brews to rich espressos, specialty lattes, and more. From the start, we were committed to ensuring that being mobile wouldn’t mean compromising on quality — which is why we spared no expense when it came to our equipment and ingredients.
Our setup includes a top-of-the-line espresso machine and grinder, but one of the most important (and often overlooked) elements of great coffee is the water. We use only purified mineral water, brewed fresh through our machine and into every cup we serve. It’s just one of the ways we go the extra mile to deliver an exceptional coffee experience — no matter where we’re parked.
We hope to serve you soon so you can taste the difference for yourself!
Before we go, is there anything else you can share with us?
We are excited to announce we will be attending the Lady Lake Craft and Farmers market every Tuesday starting in October through next spring 2026!
You can also connect with us on our socials to see other events we are attending.
