Today we’d like to introduce you to Gabrielle Brownell.
Hi gabrielle, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
A little bit about my story! I started assisting at Stylediva Color Spa at eighteen years old, I assisted the owner with weddings and daily at her salon doing all things hair and makeup. I knew right away this was where i belonged and i haven’t left since, i’m now twenty six. I worked two jobs to put my self through cosmetology school and while it wasn’t always easy it was one hundred percent worth it. Now as a seasoned stylist i’ve learned my favorite part is making people feel beautiful and bringing back some confidence for them. I especially love weddings and bonding with brides and their families on one of the most important days of their lives, i get so much excitement when anyone reaches out to me to book with me. I couldn’t be any happier with where i’m at. I currently still take clients through the week at stylediva, i work on two bridal teams, im a preferred vendor for two wedding venues local to me and im not done yet.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Some of my struggles along the way are all linked to the people pleaser in me. I struggle sometimes in this industry because i truly want to make every single person happy and feel their best version of themselves. Its something im still currently working on, i genuinely want my clients to feel seen and heard but setting my own boundaries are also a part of my personal growth.
As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
I am a licensed cosmetologist, i specialize in blonding, extensions, and bridal hair and makeup. I love spending my weekends working weddings and bringing beauty to the brides. I’m most proud of the relationship i’ve built with my clients, i know i have such a strong bond with them and they keep coming back and referring their entire families. I think what sets me apart. What sets me apart is how much i truly and deeply care for my clients whether it’s bridal or in the salon: i go above and beyond to ensure my clients feel understood and taken care of.
Any advice for finding a mentor or networking in general?
My mentor is our salon owner Heather Parker. She inspired me with her passion from a very young age and the way she cares for her clients and her team. My advice would be to find your salon home, a team you want to win with.
