Community Highlights: Meet Brandon Moser of Brandon Moser Photography

Today we’d like to introduce you to Brandon Moser.

Hi Brandon, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
I started photography roughly 10 years ago, but have only been doing it professionally for around 7 years. I first started out as a wedding & portrait photographer in Charleston, SC, but moved to Florida in 2021 to photograph rocket launches after seeing my first launch in 2020. Since 2021, I’ve been able to document 10 launches of astronauts to the International Space Station, the inaugural launch of NASA’s Space Launch System (SLS) rocket that launched the Artemis I mission in November 2022, the final launch of United Launch Alliance’s (ULA) Delta IV Heavy rocket, the inaugural launch of ULA’s new Vulcan rocket, plus several dozen satellite launches.

I’ve also had the honor of documenting the progress of the Artemis II mission starting in July 2024 by photographing the arrival and offloading of Core Stage-2 (orange center section of the SLS rocket), photographing the Orion Spacecraft & the two SLS side boosters inside NASA’s Vehicle Assembly Building in March of this year. I’ll be looking forward to documenting the launch of Artemis II in April 2026.

More recently, I’ve been documenting the nationwide protests of the Trump administration for Alamy Live News. I’ve documented several protests in Tampa and St. Petersburg and I’ll be documenting future protests in other nearby cities.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
It has mostly been a smooth road, however there have been a few bumps along the way. In September 2022 I lost my apartment due to flooding in Orlando during Hurricane Ian. After re-locating to St. Petersburg in 2023, my day job closed for around a month and a half due to damage from back-to-back hurricanes in September/October 2024.

A potential near future bump I’m keeping an eye on is the proposed slashing of NASA’s 2026 budget that is currently making its way through Congress. Should it pass, not only will it significantly cut the budget to current & future science missions NASA’s currently working on, it will also cancel their rocket, SLS, after the launch of Artemis III. It’ll also cut NASA’s Public Affairs department at Kennedy Space Center to $0. The Public Affairs department, in part, oversees the media at Kennedy Space Center for specific launches. If they go away, there won’t be media coverage of historic events and launches going forward.

Appreciate you sharing that. What should we know about Brandon Moser Photography?
I am a freelance photographer for Alamy Live News. I primarily photograph rocket launches out of Cape Canaveral, Florida, however in my free time I’ve also been documenting nationwide protests out of Tampa/St. Petersburg. I also run an online print shop where I sell prints of my rocket launch & landscape photography.

What do you like and dislike about the city?
What I like most about Orlando would be the diversity of the city and surrounding areas. What I like least would be a tie between the heat/humidity and the traffic congestion.
