Inspiring Conversations with Carolina Guandique of Skinlogix

Today we’d like to introduce you to Carolina Guandique.

Hi Carolina, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
I started working in the Health and Beauty field in my early twenties, graduated from the Evangelical University in San Salvador, El Salvador with degree in Nutrition and Dietetics, and began working at a med spa doing consultations and diets for weight loss and body treatments on clients, and performed facial treatments with specific technologies. I loved to work closely with people and help them to achieve their goals. When i relocated to the US i decided to pursue in the field so I enrolled in the Florida College of Natural Health now the Cortiva institute, and became a Paramedical Esthetitian. I was lucky to find a job with an established day spa in Winter Park, Beautiful Skin by Carmen, with Carmen Roberts for 6 yrs, The experience and training i received from her was wonderful and helped me move on to my next goal which was to be a solo esthetitian and have my own business.
2 yrs ago i opened Skinlogix, with 2 locations in Orlando, offering services like customized facial treatments using various technologies like microdermabrasion, dermaplanning, aquafacial, chemical peels etc. Helping my clients feel confident in their own skin is my passion.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
The most difficult thing for me in this journey was the fact that i didn’t have any hand on experience when i graduated from college, i was 45 yrs old competing for jobs against younger people and landing a job took many months of interviews, so when Carmen Roberts gave me the chance to work at her spa i was so grateful, she took me under her wing gave and trained me in other services i had no experience with, it helped me become a more well-rounded professional.

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your business?
My goal is simple to help people love their skin, i offer personalized facials with various technologies because no one size fits all, aquafacial, oxygen infusion, Phototherapy, Radiotherapy, Electro muscle stimulation (EMS), collagen infusion, chemical peels, to leave the skin glowing, smooth, and deeply refreshed and hydrated. real results, customized care and a relaxing experience every time you visit. Let us be part of your skin care journey, your radiance starts here.

We’d love to hear about how you think about risk taking?
Opening a new business is always a risk, with so many established spas providing the same services, its hard to compete, but by giving your all to your clients every time is not only rewarding as a professional but also for the business because people will recommend your services and that is how you grow, through word of mouth, but you have to be clear as to maybe your ROI will take a few years and you have to save up and buckle down.
