Today we’d like to introduce you to William Canonizado.
Hi William, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
I opened this Martial Arts School in 2004 for my son to be able to train in Competitively in Martial Arts.
Prior to that, we have been looking around for a good Martial Arts School that offers Competitive training like Competition Martial Arts, but sadly not a lot of Martial Arts School offers that kind of training. Most school that we went to did’nt have the Staff or knowledge for that kind a training.
So fast forward when we open our Martial Arts School, we started getting a lot of students wanting to train with us for competition.
We have kids and Parents who even travel to us from another States or other country to come and wants to train competitively.. I have a lot of kids who Competes locally and a lot kids who also travels and competes Nationally and Internationally.
My Martial Arts School also offers After School Care, where we pick-up our students from their school and take them to our Martial Arts School and this is where they do their Home-work and they are also provided with snack and of course they also do their Martial Arts Training while they are here.
We are a Non-Profit Organization and we help out Parents and kids who are unable to afford.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Well, just like any other Businesses, there’s always bumps here and there. But other than that we are just Blessed that we are still here and still going strong. We survived thru COVID in the past and we are still here to help Parents and Kids with their path.
We have help a lot of kids in the past and we will be here for many more years to come.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
I was a retired Registered Critical care RN ( Registered Nurse ) I have worked for Advent Health for over 20 Years in the past. I stop working as an RN due to this Business growing and needed more staff assistance, so I have to quit my job.
Is there something surprising that you feel even people who know you might not know about?
I am a very Competitive person.
