Today we’d like to introduce you to Brooklyn Schwetje.
Hi Brooklyn, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
Hi I’m Brooklyn, I was born in San Diego, California. Later, my family moved to Florida, where I finished high school and pursued my love of theater.
After graduation, I attended the University of Alabama, where I joined Delta Gamma and fully immersed myself in campus life. I earned dual bachelor’s degrees — one in Hospitality Management and the other in Public Relations — both focused on Sports and Entertainment Management. I also completed my master’s in Sports Management. One of my favorite experiences during those years was serving as Big Al, Alabama’s beloved mascot. It was a role that let me bring smiles to people’s faces every single day, and I loved every second of it.
Six months after graduating, my parents gave my sister and me the ultimate gift — a spot on Royal Caribbean’s Ultimate World Cruise. For nine months, we sailed aboard Serenade of the Seas, visiting more than 60 countries and 150 destinations. It was the trip of a lifetime — a true immersion in cultures, landscapes, and friendships from every corner of the globe. I learned quickly that travel isn’t just about the places you see; it’s about the people you meet and the way those experiences change you.
That voyage cemented something I had felt since I was young: my love for travel isn’t a phase or a hobby — it’s part of who I am. Whether I’m exploring a bustling city, walking through a historic landmark, or simply chatting with someone whose life is completely different from mine, I feel most alive when I’m discovering the world.
I’ve also been lucky to visit some of the most magical places on earth — Disneyland, Disney World, Hong Kong Disneyland, and Tokyo Disneyland — each one a unique adventure that fuels my love for storytelling and immersive experiences.
Since the world cruise, I’ve been fortunate to continue chasing that passion — working in sports entertainment with the Florida Panthers and ultimately joining an airline as a flight attendant. Now, my “office” changes every day, my coworkers are from all over the globe, and each trip brings a new story.
Travel has shaped my education, my career, and my heart. It’s shown me that the world is both bigger than we can imagine and smaller than we think — and I plan to keep exploring it for as long as I can.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It hasn’t been a smooth road. I’ve had to turn down dream opportunities because the timing wasn’t right, push through the challenges of being away from family, and survive a demanding six-and-a-half weeks of flight attendant training. Those moments were tough, but they taught me resilience and made every success that much sweeter.
As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
I create safe, welcoming, and memorable experiences for people while traveling — whether they’re seasoned explorers or setting out for the first time. I specialize in connecting with people from all walks of life, anticipating their needs, and handling challenges with a calm, positive approach.
I’m most proud of building a career that blends my passion for travel, entertainment, and service. From representing the University of Alabama as Big Al, sailing around the world, and working in professional sports, each chapter has added to the way I approach my work today.
What sets me apart is that mix of experiences and a genuine love for connecting with people. No matter where I am — on land, at sea, or in the air — I strive to make every journey special and every interaction meaningful.
So, before we go, how can our readers or others connect or collaborate with you? How can they support you?
People can work with me or collaborate by partnering on travel, hospitality, or lifestyle projects that align with my passion for connecting with people and sharing authentic experiences. I’m always open to collaborations that involve storytelling, showcasing destinations, or creating engaging content that inspires others to explore the world.
You can support me by following my journey, engaging with my content, and sharing it with others who love travel and adventure. Whether it’s through brand partnerships, media features, or event appearances, I love teaming up with individuals and organizations that value positivity, authenticity, and a spirit of adventure.
