Check Out David Greenhouse’s Story

Today we’d like to introduce you to David Greenhouse.

Hi David, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
Started in the entertainment business as a dancer in 1991. Over the span of 20 years I worked for companies like Disney World , Universal Studios, Seaworld, and a few cruise ships. I spent some time in Las Vegas dancing in a few productions before had an opportunity presented to me. In 2000 I traveled over to Japan to dance and choreograph for male revue called J-Men. This is where I had realized what I wanted to peruse next. When I moved back to Las Vegas the Chippendales had set up shop at the Rio Hotel. I auditioned for the show as a back up dancer and quickly realized this would be where I wanted to stay. I would spend the next the next 8 years dancing and choreographing/directing for the show.
In 2008 my wife and I found out we were pregnant so we moved back to Orlando. There were opportunities here but nothing that would support the life that we wanted. This forced us to make a decision to create our own company. In 2013 we formed Team Greenhouse, LLC. Under this company we created Rock Hard Revue, Cherry Bomb Burlesque, and Bare Naked Butlers. During this time we had the pleasure of choreographing for Universal Studios and SeaWorld. In addition to Team Greenhouse we have a photography business and a t-shirt printing business.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
This has never been a smooth road. Running an “adult-themed” business has a ton of challenges. Besides the task of selling tickets to fill the seats each week, our advertising options are limited. There are major restrictions on how you can advertise with social media, search engines, and any type of print ads. In addition, keeping entertainers committed to a show that is not full-time work can be tough.

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
At this moment, Team Greenhouse is the current choreography team for Universal Studios and Seaworld. In addition, we are the producers of a male revue and burlesque show here in Orlando.

We currently have two live show offerings, Rock Hard Revue and Cherry Bomb Burlesque. Both shows are completely built from our experiences in the entertainment world. Since my wife and I were both performers for professional stage productions in Las Vegas and performed in male revues/burlesque shows, we had plenty of experience to pull from.

I guess we are known for our “sexy” choreography here in town. We are not limited to this since we choreographed the Universal Holiday Parade and Seaworld’s Club Sea Glow, among several other shows at the parks.

I am most proud of my wife’s work she has been doing at Halloween Horror Nights for the Nightmare Fuel shows. Kelly was part of the creative team that won an IAPPA award for this show in 2023.

I feel what sets us apart from others is our work ethic and our common goal thought process when it comes to creating with a team. We choreograph and create with the concept of the overall picture. We believe that if the performer is having fun and loving what they are doing, the audience will get the best experience possible. With having a son that is autistic, we learned that positive reinforcement is the most productive way to succeed. We take what we have learned from this and apply it to how we conduct our rehearsals. Seems to be working!

Do you have any advice for those just starting out?
There are too many things to list here but one thing that has helped us continue to do what we do would be say yes to everything. When a director asks you to make a change or implement a whole new section of choreography on the spot 45 min before approvals from executives, just say ok! I got you. And figure it out!
