Today we’d like to introduce you to Leginska Hidalgo.
Hi Leginska, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
It was close to 11 years ago when I was first exposed to photography. Everything started with my daughter, I used to capture and share on social media hundreds of images of her. Someone noticed I had an eye for photography.
This special person was a manager at a local photography studio and I was hired for a part time position. There I learned many skills I still use today.
I made some career changes and worked at healthcare however, the pandemic happened. We all know times were extremely difficult for those in the healthcare field. Simultaneously I decided we should move to Florida and my family of 4 made the big move.
After much thought and in the search of happiness I decided to pursue my dream career and become a full time photographer.
I have been blessed with incredible individuals and clients who have trusted me with their memories for the almost 4 years now.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Whoever says becoming a business owner has been easy is not an honest person. There has been moments I’ve felt overwhelmed juggling being a mom and a business owner. No one in my family has ever been a business owner to this extent so I cannot ask them for guidance and I’ve had to learned so much along the way. Luckily I’ve also taught myself to take everything as a learning curve.
As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
I specialize in maternity, newborn, milestone, cake smash, and female branding sessions all designed to be empowering, intentional, and deeply personal.
What I’m most known for is creating a celebratory, feminine experience for maternity clients. These moms to be often say they leave my sessions feeling seen, confident, and connected to their story whether it their first time or third.
What sets me apart is the experience I offer. From curated wardrobe options to styling guidance and a warm, judgment-free space, I craft every detail to make my clients feel at ease and truly celebrated. I’m most proud of how many of them come back again and again not just for photos, but to mark the beautiful, evolving chapters of their lives.
Networking and finding a mentor can have such a positive impact on one’s life and career. Any advice?
Network everywhere you are present in. You never know when you are at the right place at the right time. What has led me to grow my business has been networking extensively. I sometimes struggle with my social battery running low however, I still show up with a smile and create connections. Is never too late or early for those. Finding a mentor is a beautiful thing too, sometimes we have self doubt and a mentor can help you grow in unimaginable ways. For instance I found the one that has helped me look deeper in my soul and analyze what I can do better.
