Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
I am the owner and CEO of the I Said Yes! family of businesses. We believe in fostering a vibrant community of business professionals who are committed to the pursuit of excellence. I launched I Said Yes! in 2019 as a wedding-focused online listing, expo producer, and host of networking events. Over time, I saw a deeper need—small business owners in this industry wanted the support of a team without carrying the full responsibility of building and managing one themselves.
They needed a safe space to share ideas, a metaphorical boardroom table where they could throw creative spaghetti, spark innovation, and grow their businesses. They needed access to administrative support without the cost of hiring full-time staff. That realization led to the creation of I Said Yes! to Success—a comprehensive business support system powered by expert virtual assistants who step in and provide the resources business owners need.
What started with wedding professionals has now expanded into supporting entrepreneurs across many industries. At the core of everything we do is a belief that every business has a unique story and journey, and our mission is to honor that individuality while cheering them on toward their own version of success.
Just as importantly, our companies are committed to employing individuals who need flexible work that still pays a living wage—such as military spouses, caregivers, and moms of little ones. We want them to have the freedom to focus on their families while also contributing financially and building meaningful careers.
At the end of the day, we draw joy from celebrating the wins of our members and clients. When they win, we celebrate right alongside them
Okay, so here’s a deep one: What relationship most shaped how you see yourself?
The relationship with my parents and siblings has most shaped how I see myself. I was blessed to be born to two amazing human beings. My parents are strong Christians who taught us to love others, treat people the way we want to be treated, and always extend grace and mercy. They instilled in me the values of strength, independence, hard work, and the belief that I can accomplish anything I set my mind to.
As the only girl in a family of three boys, some might think I had a disadvantage—but I never saw it that way. My brothers have been my biggest cheerleaders since day one. They’ve always been my protectors and encouragers. Growing up in a supportive, fun, loud, adventurous, you-can-do-it, faith-filled home gave me the foundation of who I am today and who I continue to strive to be.
What fear has held you back the most in your life?
I’m a perfectionist and a rule follower at my core. When there aren’t clear rules to follow, I sometimes struggle to commit to a path because I want to make sure I’m doing it “right.” And when there’s no obvious “right,” I worry about doing it wrong. I wouldn’t say this fear has held me back necessarily, but it has caused me to pause longer than others might while I assess the best way forward.
I naturally prefer a clear plan over taking a gamble. But in business, sometimes you have to take a leap without certainty. I’m thankful that, time and again, I’ve chosen to take that leap – not only to push past this “fear”, but also to learn to trust that even when the path feels narrow, the reward on the other side is worth it.
Next, maybe we can discuss some of your foundational philosophies and views? What’s a cultural value you protect at all costs?
I believe integrity is an integral part of being successful, but even more than that, it shapes the character of a person and their business. To me, it’s about doing the right thing, even when no one is watching, and leading with honesty, truth, and transparency. That belief has shaped how I run my businesses and how I show up for others. Our team lives by a simple motto: Passion – Integrity – Success – Celebrate. We pour passion into helping others, hold fast to integrity in all things, focus on creating success for our clients, and make it a point to celebrate every win for our clients and each other – no matter how big or small.
Okay, so let’s keep going with one more question that means a lot to us: Could you give everything your best, even if no one ever praised you for it?
Yes! While praise is always appreciated and it feels good to know my work makes a difference, I don’t do it for recognition. I do what I do because I truly find joy in helping others reach their dream life. When a client books a new sale or hits a milestone, I celebrate their success—not mine. And when a team member reaches a new level of accomplishment or discovers a new skill, I celebrate them just the same. The win belongs to them, and that’s what brings me the most fulfillment.
I also set personal goals that no one else may even know about, and each morning I begin with a prayer: “God, who and what do you have for me today?” As long as I keep my eyes on that path and journey, I don’t need any other praise.
