We’re looking forward to introducing you to Isabella Fortich. Check out our conversation below.
Isabella, really appreciate you sharing your stories and insights with us. The world would have so much more understanding and empathy if we all were a bit more open about our stories and how they have helped shaped our journey and worldview. Let’s jump in with a fun one: What is a normal day like for you right now?
Right now, a normal day for me is anything but normal. As an immigration attorney practicing under the Trump administration, my days are often fast paced and unpredictable. They are filled with urgent client needs, constant policy changes, and challenging legal battles. It is hectic, but I make a point to carve out small moments to pause, take a breath, and re-center so I can keep showing up fully for the people who need me.
Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
I’m Isabella Fortich, an immigration attorney and founding partner at Quintero Fortich Legal, PLLC in Orlando, Florida. My work is shaped by a deep understanding of the immigration process and a commitment to standing by clients through each step of their journey.
At Quintero Fortich Legal, we focus on helping individuals and families navigate all facets of the U.S. immigration system, from deportation defense and asylum to employment-based visas, naturalization, and special relief such as U Visas and VAWA.
What sets our firm apart is the empathy and dedication we bring to every case. We pride ourselves on providing personalized strategies, responsive and transparent communication, and a commitment to empowering our clients with clarity and confidence.
My own path, from studying economics and French at the University of Central Florida and law at Barry University, to interning with the Department of Homeland Security and co-founding this firm, reflects a strong dedication to advocacy. Multilingual and resilient, I continue to blend professional rigor with genuine compassion to help each client move closer to their hopes and dreams.
Appreciate your sharing that. Let’s talk about your life, growing up and some of topics and learnings around that. Who saw you clearly before you could see yourself?
I would say my parents. They recognized my strengths and potential long before I fully understood them myself. Their belief in me has been a steady source of encouragement, and it has shaped how I approach challenges and opportunities in my life and career.
If you could say one kind thing to your younger self, what would it be?
I would tell my younger self that she is stronger than she realizes and that every challenge she faces will help shape the person she is meant to become. I would remind her to trust the process, believe in herself, and not be afraid to take up space.
Alright, so if you are open to it, let’s explore some philosophical questions that touch on your values and worldview. What are the biggest lies your industry tells itself?
One of the biggest lies the immigration field tells itself is that the system is fair and accessible to everyone if they just follow the rules. In reality, the laws are complex, constantly changing, and often applied inconsistently, which leaves many deserving people without a real chance. Another lie is that speed equals efficiency. In immigration law, rushing often means missing the nuances that can make or break a case.
Okay, we’ve made it essentially to the end. One last question before you go. What will you regret not doing?
I think I would regret not traveling to see more of the world and not fully embracing life’s imperfections. It is easy to get consumed by the little things, but I am learning that life is found in the messiness of moments, not in waiting for everything to be perfectly in place.
