Rob Chiola shared their story and experiences with us recently and you can find our conversation below.
Good morning Rob, we’re so happy to have you here with us and we’d love to explore your story and how you think about life and legacy and so much more. So let’s start with a question we often ask: What do you think is misunderstood about your business?
I think people often misunderstand how deeply personal and meaningful wedding videography really is. It’s not just about filming the day — it’s about preserving the voices, the laughter, the tears, and the fleeting moments that go by in a blur. Years from now, when loved ones have grown older or even passed on, these films become priceless. I’m not just capturing a day — I’m creating something you’ll hold onto for a lifetime, something your future kids or grandkids can experience too. It’s a time capsule of love, joy, and connection, and I think that’s often overlooked until the day is long gone.
Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
Hi, I’m Rob — a wedding videographer based in Florida, but always ready to travel wherever love takes me. I specialize in capturing real, unscripted moments and turning them into cinematic films that couples can relive for a lifetime. My approach is all about storytelling — not just documenting a day, but preserving the emotions, personalities, and connection that make each love story unique.
What makes my work special is the intentionality behind it. I don’t just show up with a camera — I build relationships with my couples, get to know their story, and create films that reflect who they are. Whether it’s an intimate elopement in the mountains or a packed dance floor in the heart of Florida, I’m there to capture it with honesty, heart, and a little creative flair.
Right now, I’m continuing to grow my brand, connect with incredible couples, and expand to more destinations across the U.S. and beyond. I feel so lucky to do what I love — telling love stories that stand the test of time.
Okay, so here’s a deep one: What’s a moment that really shaped how you see the world?
A moment that truly shaped how I see the world was the day my son was born. Everything shifted. Suddenly, life wasn’t just about me anymore — it became about protecting, guiding, and being fully present for someone else. It gave me a whole new level of empathy, patience, and perspective. I started to notice the little things more, because I wanted to soak up every moment with him — and that mindset naturally bled into my work. Now, when I film weddings, I don’t just think about the couple — I think about their future kids watching these films one day, seeing the love their parents shared. Becoming a father made me see the world through a much more meaningful lens — both literally and figuratively.
If you could say one kind thing to your younger self, what would it be?
If I could say one kind thing to my younger self, it would be: Be patient. Trust that things will unfold in their own time, and that rushing won’t make the journey any easier. Growth, love, and success all take time—and patience is the quiet strength that helps you get there.
I think our readers would appreciate hearing more about your values and what you think matters in life and career, etc. So our next question is along those lines. Is the public version of you the real you?
Yes, I try to be authentic all the time. For me, there’s no point in putting on a façade because the real connections—whether with clients, friends, or family—come from being honest and true to who I am. Of course, like anyone, I have private moments and layers, but what you see publicly is a genuine reflection of me.
Okay, we’ve made it essentially to the end. One last question before you go. Have you ever gotten what you wanted, and found it did not satisfy you?
Yes, I’ve definitely experienced that—especially with money. At one point, I thought that having more money would bring me happiness or fulfillment, but it didn’t. It’s great to have financial stability, of course, but it’s the relationships, the meaningful moments, and doing work I’m passionate about that truly satisfy me. Money alone can’t replace that deeper sense of purpose and connection.
