Today we’d like to introduce you to Stacey.
Hi Stacey, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
I started doing hair over 25 years ago and, like many stylists, I began behind the chair with a passion for making people look and feel their best. Very early on, though, I realized I wasn’t just passionate about hair. I loved the business side of the beauty industry. Within a few months. I opened my first salon, Bedazzled by Stacey & Co., and from there I went on to open and sell multiple successful salons, including 20 Volume Salon & Spa, the fastest growing Aveda salons on the West Coast.
Along the way, I became known for creating desk-less salon operations and training programs for new stylists. My approach was always about combining artistry with systems that allowed both stylists and the business to thrive. That work earned me several honors, including Business Woman of the Year, Innovator of the Year, and multiple Top 200 Salon recognitions.
Over time, my role evolved from stylist to mentor and educator. I started helping other beauty professionals build six-figure careers, launch their own businesses, and create financial freedom through both salon ownership and digital products.
Today, I’m building Vibe Collective Studios, a modern salon suite concept in Clermont, Florida while also running my mentoring programs and expanding into travel with my family.
At every step, my journey has been about growth: from standing behind the chair, to leading teams, to building opportunities for other professionals. What started with me simply wanting to do hair has turned into creating businesses, communities, and legacies for others in the industry to thrive.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
It definitely hasn’t been a smooth road. One of the hardest parts of my journey was facing burnout. In this industry, it’s easy to give everything to your clients and your business and leave very little for yourself. There were seasons where I was exhausted, and I had to learn the hard way how important balance and boundaries really are. I still struggle with boundaries today, but I’m better!
Another challenge was the emotional side of selling salons I had poured my heart into. Letting go of something you built from the ground up is never easy, even when it’s the right decision. Each time I sold a business, it felt like closing a chapter of my life.
And then, a few years ago, I made a huge life change to sell all my salons and move across the country and start over completely. I had to rebuild my network, my business, and my brand from scratch. That experience tested me more than anything else, but it also reminded me that reinvention is always possible. Those struggles gave me the grit and perspective I needed to grow into the entrepreneur I am today.
Appreciate you sharing that. What should we know about Vibe Collective Studios ?
My business is called Vibe Collective Studios, and it’s a modern salon suite concept designed to give beauty professionals the freedom and flexibility to run their own businesses without the headaches that often come with traditional salon ownership. We provide fully built-out suites for hairstylists, barbers, estheticians, lash and nail artists, and other beauty professionals who want to be independent, but also crave a sense of community.
What sets us apart is the experience. Vibe isn’t just about renting a room, it’s about creating an environment where professionals feel empowered, supported, and inspired. I’ve spent over 25 years in this industry, and I know the struggles stylists face: burnout, lack of freedom, financial stress. Vibe was designed to solve those pain points by offering turnkey spaces, flexible leases, and a culture rooted in collaboration instead of competition.
Brand-wise, I’m most proud of the fact that Vibe is more than a building…it’s a movement. We’re bringing a fresh, elevated concept to Clermont, Florida, where there are currently no salon suite options at all. Our vision is to create a space that feels high-end, supportive, and tailored to the unique needs of beauty entrepreneurs.
Beyond the physical space, I’m also known for my mentoring and digital education. I help stylists build six-figure incomes, grow their businesses, and even expand into passive income streams. Whether it’s inside Vibe Collective Studios or through my online programs, my mission is the same: to empower beauty professionals to create careers and lives they don’t need a vacation from.
Networking and finding a mentor can have such a positive impact on one’s life and career. Any advice?
My advice for finding a mentor is to be intentional about who you learn from. Look for people who are already living the kind of life or running the kind of business you aspire to, and don’t be afraid to reach out. Most mentors are willing to share if they see genuine effort and commitment on your part.
When I opened my first Aveda salon I had a mentor that had 3 salons and I wanted to be just like her…I took all her classes, I offered my help before/after. I followed her guidance on how to build a brand and a team and 5 years later, she was inviting me to her salons for coaching on my desk less model…talk about full circle moment.
Networking has worked best for me when I approach it with authenticity. Instead of asking “what can I get from this person?”, I focus on “what value can I bring to this relationship?” That mindset shift has opened more doors than anything else.
