An Inspired Chat with Sparkles Holley of Ocoee

Sparkles Holley shared their story and experiences with us recently and you can find our conversation below.

Hi Sparkles, thank you so much for taking time out of your busy day to share your story, experiences and insights with our readers. Let’s jump right in with an interesting one: What do you think others are secretly struggling with—but never say?
I think its a couple things that people in today’s time are lowkey struggling silently with such as:

Feeling “behind” in life – Comparing themselves to others’ timelines and silently wondering if they’ve missed their chance.

Having Low self-worth – Putting on a confident front while privately doubting their value.

Financial stress – Worrying about bills, debt, or stability, but hiding it to avoid feeling embarrassed.

Burnout – Running on empty but afraid to slow down because life doesn’t seem to allow it.

Body image struggles – Smiling in photos while quietly battling insecurity about their appearance.

Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
Hey, I’m Sparkles Holley — the hands (and creative) behind NailzbySparkles. I’m a private nail technician who believes your nails should be as bold, beautiful, and one-of-a-kind as you are. Whether it’s a simple classy set or an over-the-top bling, around here, we don’t do basic… we do unforgettable.. When you sit with me, it’s not just about nails, it’s about the vibe: good conversation, good energy, and a set you can’t stop staring at. My goal is to not only deliver flawless nails but also give each client a relaxing, personalized service that leaves them feeling pampered and empowered.

I was a Project Manager turned Private Nail Technician, and I’m loving every moment of this 2nd phase of life. Trading deadlines and spreadsheets for rhinestones and nail art has been the best decision I’ve ever made. This journey has taught me that it’s never too late to reinvent yourself — and when you follow what lights you up, the results are pure magic.

When it comes to growing my brand and marketing, I’m focusing on upgrading my content — really nailing my lighting, angles, and editing so my photos and videos stop the scroll

Great, so let’s dive into your journey a bit more. What was your earliest memory of feeling powerful?
When I was promoted to supervisor in a call center after only 8 months in my early 20’s. It might be the first time I solved a problem that everyone else was struggling with and people genuinely looked to me for guidance. That moment when you realize your knowledge and actions actually make a difference—that’s a pure, electric kind of power.

I’ve proven that I could reinvent myself. Even in my early 20s, I proved to myself that I can step into new roles and master them. That’s the same energy I tapped into when I switched from project management to being a private nail tech — fearless career pivots don’t intimidate me.

If you could say one kind thing to your younger self, what would it be?
I’ve been a mother since I was 15 years old…….

“Hey, I know it feels like the world is moving too fast and that life is asking way too much from you right now. But trust me — you are stronger than you know, and the choices you’re making will grow into something beautiful. You will raise a daughter who shines on her own, and you will create a life full of freedom, creativity, and joy. Don’t be so hard on yourself; every challenge is shaping the unstoppable woman you’re becoming.”

Alright, so if you are open to it, let’s explore some philosophical questions that touch on your values and worldview. What are the biggest lies your industry tells itself?
Being your own boss doesn’t automatically mean more ‘me time.’ At first, it’s long hours, endless clients, and juggling all the little things behind the scenes. True freedom comes later — when you set boundaries, build your systems, and learn to protect your energy. Until then… hustle with purpose, not guilt.

Okay, we’ve made it essentially to the end. One last question before you go. Have you ever gotten what you wanted, and found it did not satisfy you?
Yes! I bought a property planning to do Airbnb… but ended up a full-time landlord instead. Definitely not the dream I imagined, but a huge lesson in knowing exactly what you want
