An Inspired Chat with Nattasha Silva

Nattasha Silva shared their story and experiences with us recently and you can find our conversation below.

Good morning Nattasha, we’re so happy to have you here with us and we’d love to explore your story and how you think about life and legacy and so much more. So let’s start with a question we often ask: What is something outside of work that is bringing you joy lately?
Lately, joy has come from reconnecting with myself on a deeper level. I’ve been embracing small rituals that nourish me from the inside out — mindful meals, journaling, hormone-supportive self-care, and allowing myself to rest without guilt. I’m also making more time to simply be — whether it’s cuddling with my dog Smoothie, enjoying slow mornings, or sharing quiet moments with the people I love. After years of pouring everything into my business, it feels good to also pour into myself and my relationships. That shift has brought me a new kind of joy that’s calm, grounded, and deeply fulfilling.

Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
Hi! My name is Nattasha Silva, I’m a Latina entrepreneur, lash educator, and founder of ULOV — a beauty brand born from purpose and passion. What started as a small lash studio in Orlando has evolved into a multidimensional business including a professional product line (ULOV Store), an online academy (ULOV Academy), and an empowering space for beauty pros to grow and thrive.

What makes my brand special is how deeply it’s rooted in education, integrity, and sisterhood. I don’t just sell beauty — I teach women how to build sustainable careers and aligned businesses in this industry. Every lash tray, every training, every post I share is designed to help others rise with confidence and clarity.

Right now, I’m focused on expanding my educational platform, launching new digital tools for lash artists, and sharing my journey more openly — including the challenges that shaped me and the mission that keeps me going.

Appreciate your sharing that. Let’s talk about your life, growing up and some of topics and learnings around that. Who were you before the world told you who you had to be?
Before the world told me who I had to be, I was a creator — naturally, unapologetically. I was that little girl who, at just 8 or 9 years old, spent hours designing earrings and accessories, setting up her own “store” at home and selling to family and neighbors. I didn’t call it entrepreneurship back then — it was just joy, expression, and the instinct to create something meaningful and share it.

I saw beauty in everything. I believed in big dreams. I believed in people. I felt powerful in my imagination and calm in my solitude. I didn’t question if I was “enough,” because I hadn’t yet been taught to doubt myself.

Then came the pressure — to be strong, perfect, productive, accepted. I started shrinking myself to fit expectations that never felt like mine. I lost pieces of that fearless girl.

But life eventually whispered me back to her. Through years of healing, building, and rediscovering my voice, I’ve returned to that essence: the girl who created with purpose and led with heart. Today, I honor her every time I build, teach, and serve from a place that feels real. She is still here — only wiser, louder, and more free.

Was there ever a time you almost gave up?
Yes — I remember a moment so heavy, it almost made me walk away from everything I had built.

After more than two years of building a team I trusted with my heart, things shifted unexpectedly. I lost my entire staff — women I had trained, supported, and considered family. Their departure wasn’t just logistical; it was emotional. With them, I also lost many clients, income, and something even deeper: my confidence.

I started questioning everything. Was I a good leader? Was this business still meant for me? I had built my studio with love and purpose, but suddenly it felt empty — both physically and emotionally. For a while, I couldn’t see the way forward. I felt alone, betrayed, and tired.

But something within me refused to let go. I reminded myself that I was the foundation — not the team, not the numbers, not the noise. Me. My vision. My values. My energy. So I rebuilt — slowly, intentionally, and with stronger boundaries. I reconnected with my purpose, created better systems, and found new strength in doing things on my own terms.

That breakdown turned into a breakthrough. Today, my business feels more aligned than ever. And I’m proud — not just because I kept going, but because I grew through it.

I think our readers would appreciate hearing more about your values and what you think matters in life and career, etc. So our next question is along those lines. What’s a belief or project you’re committed to, no matter how long it takes?
I’m deeply committed to the belief that women — especially in the beauty industry — deserve to build lives and businesses rooted in purpose, independence, and confidence.

That’s why I created ULOV Academy and ULOV Store. These aren’t just projects; they are extensions of a mission that’s bigger than me. I want to equip beauty professionals not just with tools or techniques, but with the mindset, systems, and support to become financially empowered, emotionally grounded, and creatively free.

This path hasn’t always been fast or easy. But I’ve learned that real impact takes time. I’m not chasing trends — I’m building legacy. Whether it takes 5 or 15 years, I’ll continue showing up, evolving, and pouring into women who are ready to rise.

Because for me, success isn’t measured in numbers — it’s measured in how many women I help believe in themselves again.

Before we go, we’d love to hear your thoughts on some longer-run, legacy type questions. What light inside you have you been dimming?
For a long time, I dimmed my sensitivity — that soft, intuitive, deeply emotional part of me that feels everything. In a world that often rewards only the bold, fast, and loud, I convinced myself that being soft made me weak. That if I wanted to be respected, I had to toughen up, act unbothered, be “in control” all the time.

But the truth is, my sensitivity is my superpower. It’s what allows me to create from the heart, connect deeply with my clients and students, and build a brand that feels human — not just strategic. It’s the part of me that cries when a student succeeds, that listens between the lines, that sees beauty even in chaos.

I spent years hiding it, trying to appear more “put together” or detached. But doing so disconnected me from my truth. Today, I’m learning to lead with that light — to let it shine without shame. Because I now know: softness is not the opposite of strength. It’s a different kind of power. And it’s the one I choose.
