Daily Inspiration: Meet Astrid Aybar

Today we’d like to introduce you to Astrid Aybar.

Hi Astrid , please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
I was born in Bayamón, Puerto Rico, but grew up here in Orlando, so Florida has always felt like home. Early on, I thought my path would be in nursing I completed a Licensed Practical Nurse program but I realized that field wasn’t quite the right fit for me.

In 2006, I began working with Progressive Insurance in the Claims Department. That’s really where I discovered my passion for helping people navigate stressful situations while providing excellent service and building strong relationships. Those skills carried me forward and eventually opened the door to real estate.

In 2020, I became a licensed Realtor and joined The Kendrick Team. Now, with my husband, we’ve built our own team, the Aybar Group. Real estate allows me to combine everything I enjoy helping families, problem-solving, and creating lasting connections while also building a business that reflects our values. Today, I’m focused on serving clients in Central Florida, growing our brand, and creating a future that supports our family and our long-term goals.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
It definitely hasn’t always been a smooth road. Real estate itself comes with plenty of ups and downs, from navigating tough markets to keeping clients encouraged when things don’t go as planned. On top of that, my husband and I work together as a team, and while it’s such a blessing, it also brings its own set of challenges.

Working with your spouse means the lines between business and personal life can blur very easily. We’ve had to learn how to separate “work mode” from “home mode,” and how to respect each other’s roles and perspectives. There are moments when we don’t see eye-to-eye, and those situations force us to pause, communicate, and find common ground without letting it affect our family or clients.

Those struggles have also been some of our biggest lessons. They’ve taught us patience, the importance of clear communication, and how to lean on each other’s strengths rather than focus on the weaknesses. So while it hasn’t been smooth, I’d say the challenges have pushed us to grow both as business partners and as a couple.

Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I’m a Realtor with Keller Williams and together with my husband we run the Aybar Group. We specialize in helping families buy and sell homes in the Orlando and Lake Nona area, and I’m especially passionate about guiding people through new construction and 55+ communities. My background in customer service and claims taught me how important it is to listen, build trust, and really walk clients through what can sometimes feel like an overwhelming process.

What I’m most proud of is the relationships I’ve built. For me, it’s never just about the transaction it’s about being a steady guide and advocate from the first conversation all the way through closing, and even beyond. Many of my clients have become lifelong friends, which is something I truly treasure.

What sets me apart is my ability to connect with people on a deeper level. I bring a mix of professionalism and warmth, and I always make sure my clients feel seen, heard, and supported. I don’t just want them to find a house I want them to find a home and feel confident in one of the biggest decisions of their lives.

Alright so before we go can you talk to us a bit about how people can work with you, collaborate with you or support you?
People can work with me by reaching out if they’re thinking about buying or selling a home, whether it’s right now or even just exploring options for the future. I love being a resource, so even if someone just has questions about the market I’m happy to help.

Collaboration is also big for me. I enjoy connecting with other professionals lenders, builders, interior designers, and even small business owners in the community because together we can bring more value to our clients and neighbors.

And honestly, one of the best ways people can support me is through referrals and introductions. If they know someone who’s thinking of making a move, pointing them in my direction means so much. Even sharing my posts on social media or just spreading the word about what I do is a huge help.

At the heart of it, I want people to know they can count on me to listen, guide, and support them through one of life’s biggest decisions.
