Exploring Life & Business with Sherri Washington of Phoenix Wellness Collective LLC

Today we’d like to introduce you to Sherri Washington.

Hi Sherri, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
Becoming a mental health counselor was a spiritual calling to assist folx who are on a healing journey from various walks of life and experiences. Going into private practice has always been the goal as an introvert, to work with individuals in a relaxing and inviting environment. I have since rebranded my practice from Embracing You 2gether to Phoenix Wellness Collective, LLC, after experiencing major life transitions. Since the COVID-19 pandemic, my practice has transitioned to a 100% virtual practice, allowing individuals to attend sessions from the comfort of their own private settings.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
For the most part, the transition has been smooth. Telehealth allowed for further access throughout the state of Florida. There have been some challenges learning the business side of things and developing an understanding of the laws and rules as they relate to telehealth, as my education did not provide the training for it. So, there’s been a lot of trial and error, continuing education, and professional development behind the scenes.

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your business?
Phoenix Wellness Collective, LLC is a mental health private practice that incorporates holistic approaches to healing. I specialize in working with individuals who are suffering from various mental illnesses and/or life transitions. I’m known for creating a space where clients can show up as their authentic selves without judgment. I’m most proud of helping my clients redefine who they are and how they show up in the world. I provide individual counseling and coaching services throughout Florida, Georgia, New Hampshire, and South Carolina.

So maybe we end on discussing what matters most to you and why?
What matters most to me is helping individuals develop the tools to feel empowered and confident within themselves. Life can be hard on its own, and when we address unresolved traumas and hurts and can find meaning in these experiences, we become more empathetic, compassionate, and open-minded with the people we encounter. It creates a more inclusive and tolerant world.
