Inspiring Conversations with Jessica Cordero of Ladies Lounge

Today we’d like to introduce you to Jessica Cordero.

Hi Jessica , so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
My journey to becoming an esthetician and opening my own spa really began at a point in my life when I knew I needed to be radical about choosing self-love. I was moving through some very personal obstacles and one day I decided to put myself first. At the time, it was something as small as committing to my skincare routine each morning, but that simple act became the reason I’d get out of bed and start my day. It was the spark that reminded me how powerful it can be to care for yourself.

When I enrolled in esthetics school, that spark grew into a deep appreciation for the healing power of touch. What began as my own form of therapy became something I wanted to share, an opportunity to help others feel cared for and supported in the same way I had been. That’s why I built my practice around massage centered therapies, creating treatments that not only transform the skin but also provide the comfort and release that come from human connection.

And at the heart of it all, my greatest motivation has always been my children. I wanted to create a path that allowed me to be fully present with them while also building something meaningful for myself. They are my “why”…the reason I do what I do, and the reminder that choosing love, for ourselves and for others, will always lead us where we’re meant to be.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
It definitely hasn’t been a smooth road. From the very beginning, I knew I wanted to work from home so I could spend more time with my family, but that came with its own challenges. Without a storefront, it was difficult to gain visibility and reach clients, and at times I worried it would hold me back from positioning myself in the luxury skincare space.

Starting a business is always a financial leap, and for me, it came at a time when I had a four month old baby. I went to night school to become certified while being a full-time stay at home mom to two children under two during the day. Finding the balance between motherhood, school and building a business was not easy.

On top of that, I had to learn every aspect of running a business: marketing, branding and finances, while also pushing past moments of self-doubt and reminding myself I belonged in this industry. It was a lot of long days and late nights, but every challenge shaped me and made my “why” even stronger.

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about Ladies Lounge ?
My business is a boutique bespoke skincare spa that focuses on holistic treatments. I specialize in facials that incorporate massage focused movements, as well as a curated selection of luxury skincare products, many from European lines that are both clean and effective. I stay up to date with innovations in the industry, but instead of leaning on passing trends, I prefer what’s tried and true: the power of the hands to lift and sculpt the face, and time honored treatments like microneedling and micro-current. These modalities work with the body’s own immune response to regenerate cells and repair the skin from within, offering lasting results rather than quick fixes.

It’s the personal connection and trust I build with my clients that makes this work so special. Many now feel more like extended family, and I take pride in nurturing those lasting relationships. I’m also proud of the brand partnerships I’ve built along the way, which allow me to bring high quality, trusted products to my clients.

But more than treatments or products, my spa is meant to be a sanctuary. A safe place where clients can let their guard down, be their most authentic selves, and leave feeling restored, cared for and beautiful inside and out. My work isn’t just about skincare, it’s about helping people reconnect with themselves, their confidence and their sense of well-being.

What would you say have been one of the most important lessons you’ve learned?
The most important lesson I’ve learned is to trust myself, even when the path feels uncertain. There were times I questioned if I was capable, but following my intuition and passion has always led me to exactly where I needed to be. Trusting myself has allowed me to build a business I love, be fully present with my children and create a space where clients feel cared for and truly seen. It’s taught me that even the hardest journeys can lead to something beautiful.
