Today we’d like to introduce you to Sara Burr.
Hi Sara, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
I’m an Artist and a Musician. I’m a trained artist with a BFA and 30 years experience as a professional artist with Disney World as a Figure Finisher focusing on animatronic figures of Magic Kingdom and the MGM Scenic Shop. I’m now retired for 8 years focused on my personal artwork and musical career. As a musician I work in a variety of bands that my husband and I have created, the website for that is MountainBrew.net where we have all our bands and calendar. As an artist I participate in a variety of galleries and events and this website is SaraBurr.com
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
As both a visual and performing artist I have found hard work reaps rewards. There is nothing easy about either path I chose. I was determined in my pursuit of knowledge and experience. I’ve been fortunate to have been encouraged by both my family, mentors and colleagues along this journey. When you have authentic intentions the doors open.
Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
As an Artist I specialize in oil paintings. Ethereal landscapes, abstraction of ideas and figurative work are my subjects of interest. Having a variety of interesting subjects keeps my work fresh and evolving. My background as a professional artist involved animals, birds and human figures with a high degree of realism. Having paid my dues I can explore more personal, unique and authentic imagery.
Alright so before we go can you talk to us a bit about how people can work with you, collaborate with you or support you?
With my musical aspirations I collaborate with my band partners.. Good communication and practice is both supportive and beneficial.
My visual art requires time to just paint minus judgment. When I do want support I ask and appreciate honest feedback. I always welcome family and friends to attend my Openings.
