Today we’d like to introduce you to Maria Pirone.
Hi Maria, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
Maria Pirone, 53, has been a professional intuitive and psychic reader for over 40 years. Discovered as a gifted reader in her youth, she went on to build an international clientele, beginning with representation by agents in New York City. Her work blends intuition, spiritual guidance, and compassion, helping people connect with their deepest truths.
Maria’s background spans multiple creative fields, including work as a makeup artist, fine art model, and performance artist. She has also been a vocal advocate against childhood abuse, speaking publicly from 2011–2013 to raise awareness.
Since relocating to Mount Dora, Florida during the COVID-19 pandemic, Maria has expanded her practice to include hospice and elder care as a Certified Nursing Assistant. This work, which she views as a natural extension of her intuitive gifts, focuses on supporting individuals and families during life’s transitions.
Alongside her healing work, Maria continues to paint, perform, and exhibit her art. Her gallery shows are held twice a year, with her next exhibition scheduled October 1–November 1, 2025, at the Gatehouse of the Lakeside Inn in Mount Dora. She also leads paranormal ghost tours and participates in local independent film projects.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
I was born into a family marked by the kind of trauma you usually only see in crime shows, and I grew up as a survivor, not a predator. My early life felt like a 25-year “arrested development,” but I chose to carve my own path. After attending the School of Visual Arts, I lived in Harlem for over two decades, building a life of independence, creativity, and healing.
I’ve spent more than 30 years in therapy, working through PTSD without medication, and I’ve learned to embrace an eccentric life that allows me to process and express emotions while helping others do the same. Without the support many people take for granted, my journey has been challenging—financially and emotionally—but also deeply rewarding.
Today, at 53, I may not own a home yet, but I’ve built a life filled with freedom, art, and service. After surviving New York City for 25 years, I know I can survive anywhere. My hardships have shaped me into someone grateful for every lesson, even the painful ones, because they’ve made me who I am.
Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?

How do you think about luck?
I don’t believe there’s really any luck. I believe in manifestation.
