Maggie Langeness of Sarasota, FL on Life, Lessons & Legacy

We’re looking forward to introducing you to Maggie Langeness . Check out our conversation below.

Maggie , so good to connect and we’re excited to share your story and insights with our audience. There’s a ton to learn from your story, but let’s start with a warm up before we get into the heart of the interview. What are you most proud of building — that nobody sees?
A community for Stay at home moms who still want to do something that financially and emotionally is for themselves

Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
I am a content creator and stay at home mom sharing my journey on Instagram @moveswithmaggie
Having rebranded my social media many times now I share about mom must haves and local experiences.
I started my social media journey writing a travel blog when I traveled solo to 20+ countries then moved abroad to Mexico and New Zealand!

Great, so let’s dive into your journey a bit more. What was your earliest memory of feeling powerful?
When I was 14 years old and saved up enough money to buy my own plane ticket. I loved the feeling of just leaving.
Then when I sold all my belongings at 26 and quit my corporate job in LA to move to Mexico by myself.

What have been the defining wounds of your life—and how have you healed them?
The wounds that made me start traveling. At a young age I experienced the sudden deaths of my friends and it was an extreme eye opening that life is short.
I spent so much time grieving and being angry that this happened when I finally just needed to remove myself from where I was. I booked a ticket to Peru and spent a month volunteering which helped me so much in learning how big the world is and putting my energy into volunteering

I think our readers would appreciate hearing more about your values and what you think matters in life and career, etc. So our next question is along those lines. What are the biggest lies your industry tells itself?
That we need lots of ‘stuff’ but really less is more.

Okay, we’ve made it essentially to the end. One last question before you go. When do you feel most at peace?
Being at the beach and swimming in the water with my kids.
