Today we’d like to introduce you to Vinitha Wolak.
Hi Vinitha, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
My family immigrated to the US when I was little, and we’ve called Orlando home ever since. Growing up here was such a great experience, this community shaped me, supported me, and really became a part of who I am. As I got older, fitness became my anchor. It started as a way to stay active, but over time it turned into something deeper, a space where I could clear my mind, challenge myself, and feel grounded. I tried just about everything: cardio, weight training, yoga… but when I discovered reformer Pilates, it completely changed how I viewed movement and strength. When I found JETSET Pilates, I fell in love with the energy, the modern approach, and the empowering environment it presents. It just felt like the perfect blend of strength and mindfulness. Bringing JETSET to Orlando felt like a full-circle moment, a chance to share something I love with the Orlando community. Opening a JETSET Pilates studio here means so much more than starting a business. It’s about creating a space where people can feel strong, confident, and supported.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
The road definitely hasn’t been smooth, but it’s been meaningful. My background is in engineering, and I’ve spent years working in the biomedical field, a career that I’ve always been proud of. But after COVID, so much changed. Work environments shifted, projects slowed, and like so many people, I started reflecting on what truly made me happy.
The pandemic was a turning point for me, both professionally and emotionally. I realized that while I loved the problem-solving side of engineering, I missed feeling connected to people in a more direct and positive way. Around that time, I found Pilates, and it became an outlet; something that helped me feel strong, balanced, and centered when everything else felt uncertain.
That’s what ultimately led me here. Opening a JETSET Pilates studio felt like a way to merge my analytical side with my love for wellness and to build something purposeful that helps others feel better, both physically and mentally. It hasn’t been easy navigating a completely different industry, but every challenge has been worth it. This business has given me a renewed sense of passion.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
I’m a biomedical engineer by background and have spent my career working in the medical device and pharmaceutical industries. Over the years, I’ve been fortunate to work on projects that bridge science, technology, and patient care. After the uncertainty that came with COVID, I decided to take a leap and open my own consulting firm. It was one of the best decisions I’ve ever made. Today, I work with numerous major companies across the industry, helping them strengthen their engineering processes, streamline quality systems, and stay compliant with evolving regulations.
What I’m most proud of is the trust I’ve built with my clients. I think what sets me apart is my ability to combine deep technical knowledge with a genuine understanding of how people and systems work together. I love being able to make a real impact behind the scenes, ensuring the products that reach patients are held to the highest standards of quality and safety.
Is there anything else you’d like to share with our readers?
I’m really excited about what’s ahead. Our Winter Park JETSET Pilates studio is now open and thriving, and we’re preparing to open our Dr. Phillips location later this year. This is just the beginning and we have plans to expand into more parts of Orlando in the coming year.
It means so much to be growing right here in the city. My goal is to continue building spaces where people can move, connect, and feel empowered.
