Conversations with Indira Torres

Today we’d like to introduce you to Indira Torres.

Hi Indira, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
I started my career in the beauty industry over seven years ago, but my journey didn’t begin there. Before becoming a permanent makeup artist, I worked in the mortgage industry a completely different world, focused on numbers and structure. But deep down, I knew I was meant to do something that allowed me to express creativity and connect with people on a more personal level.

When I discovered permanent makeup, something instantly clicked. It wasn’t just about enhancing beauty it was about restoring confidence. I left my corporate job, took a leap of faith, and decided to build something of my own from the ground up.

The path wasn’t easy. I went through seasons of doubt, fear, and having to rebuild myself not just as an artist, but as a woman and as a mother. Every challenge shaped me into the person I am today: someone who not only creates art but also helps other women in the beauty industry build self-trust, courage, and financial independence.

Today, I continue to grow as a PMU artist and educator, and I’m expanding my mission to empower women through mentorship and personal development. My story is proof that you can reinvent yourself at any stage of life and that your past doesn’t define your potential.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Absolutely not! and I’m grateful for that. My journey has been full of moments that tested my confidence and determination. Transitioning from a stable corporate job in the mortgage world to becoming a full-time entrepreneur in the beauty industry was one of the scariest and most uncertain seasons of my life.

There were times when I questioned myself when clients didn’t come in, when things didn’t go as planned, or when life as a single mom felt overwhelming. I’ve faced personal and emotional challenges that forced me to pause, rebuild, and realign with my purpose.

But every obstacle became an opportunity to grow. I learned to trust myself more, to make bold decisions even when I was afraid, and to turn pain into purpose. That’s why I’m so passionate today about helping other women in the beauty industry not just with technical skills, but with the mindset and confidence they need to succeed.

The road hasn’t been smooth, but it’s been worth it. Every struggle led me here, stronger and more aligned with the woman I was meant to become.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
I’m a permanent makeup artist and mentor based in Orlando, Florida. My work goes far beyond creating beautiful brows or lips it’s about helping women see themselves with new confidence.

I specialize in advanced permanent makeup techniques such as powder brows, lip blush, and paramedical tattooing, including scar and stretch mark revision. But what truly sets my work apart is the intention behind it. Every service, every client experience, and every class I teach is rooted in authenticity, empowerment, and excellence.

Over the years, I’ve built a reputation for being both precise and honest I’m known for my clean aesthetic, my attention to detail, and the way I educate clients and students so they understand the “why” behind every decision.

What I’m most proud of, however, is not the art itself, but the transformation I get to witness in women whether it’s a client who finally feels confident without makeup, or an artist who rediscovers her purpose after mentorship.

What sets me apart is my ability to blend artistry with emotional intelligence. I don’t just teach technique; I teach women how to trust themselves again, how to build confidence, and how to create a business that aligns with who they are.

My mission is to remind every woman that her story, her pain, and her passion can be turned into purpose and that’s the beauty I want to leave in the world.

How do you think about happiness?
What makes me happy is living a life that feels aligned one where I get to create, inspire, and still have time to be fully present with my daughters.

My work brings me so much fulfillment, but my greatest joy comes from the quiet, everyday moments picking up my girls from school, watching them grow, laugh, and become confident in who they are. They remind me why I started this journey in the first place: to build a life with freedom, not just success.

Being able to design my own schedule, work with purpose, and still have time for them is the most rewarding part of everything I’ve built. Happiness, for me, is not about having everything perfect it’s about having peace, presence, and purpose in what I do and who I do it for.
