At Thomas Roofing of Central Florida, roofing isn’t just a trade — it’s a family tradition. Three generations of Thomases have made their living and their legacy under the Florida sun.
Our story began in 1995, when our founder started roofing straight out of Vanguard High School. The pay was small, the work was tough, but those early days built the foundation of who we are today: honest, hardworking, and dedicated to quality.
After learning the ropes from one of the best mentors in the business, he spent years perfecting his craft across Marion, Lake, and Sumter Counties. What began as a one-man crew with a few printed flyers and an old Ford Ranger has grown into one of Central Florida’s trusted names in roofing.
Over the decades, we’ve built more than roofs — we’ve built relationships. Many of the people who trained under us have gone on to lead roofing teams of their own, carrying forward the same values we live by: integrity, hard work, and family.
Today, Thomas Roofing of Central Florida, Inc. stands as a proud, locally owned company known for dependable workmanship and genuine care for our customers. We treat every home as if it were our own, because that’s the way roofing should be.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Getting over the fear of failure and the fear of success. We are, truly, the only person that holds us back. This was always in the back of my head. “Am I good enough? Do I deserve to be successful? Do I have what it takes? What are the other people in my trade going to think about me when I open up shop?
All of these are irrelevant and should be completely dismissed.
Pray to God, give him your fears and concerns and do the right thing. Forget all your self perceived shortcomings and chase your dreams.do NOT be scared to fail. I fell more times than I can remember. When you succeed it is even sweeter. The only thing worse than failure is looking back and realizing you never tried.

Can you share something surprising about yourself?
I am the first generation born in the usa on my mother’s side. My mother, her brothers and my grandmother are immigrants from Italy. They came over on a boat in the 1960s. My grandmother, Angela, married an African American man, Poppa Jimmy and that is how our story began in the USA. Growing up my home was different than many of the people I know. My perspective is slightly unique to say the least. Although I am a red white and blue American man I also understand a little more than most about differing cultures.
