Today we’d like to introduce you to Tyler Meck.
Hi Tyler, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I started my journey with a simple goal — to help dogs and their people live better together. I’ve always had a strong background working with dogs, particularly in working-dog environments, which gave me a deep understanding of real-world behavior, not just textbook obedience. Over time, what began as helping a few dogs locally grew into a full-scale dog training service built around a community.
I built my business, TM Canine Services, to reflect that mission. I didn’t just want a website that “sold services.” I wanted to build a system — a clear, simple way for dog owners to understand their options, book training, and join a community. That’s why I focused the site around structured programs, easy booking, and memberships like Leashed and Unleashed. It’s designed to guide people from their very first consultation all the way to advanced real-world training, without the confusion most people experience when they start looking for help.
Along the way, I partnered with local shelters, gave back to the community, and created a platform that doesn’t just train dogs — it connects people. Today, TM Canine is more than a business. It’s a local movement. We host pop-up events, group classes, structured programs, and community sponsorships that help rescue dogs and their new families succeed.
I got to where I am through a mix of working-dog experience, grassroots community building, and a lot of late nights building systems that make training more accessible and transparent. It’s been a journey of turning passion into something structured and sustainable.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
No, the road hasn’t been smooth. Honestly, it’s been built one step, one late night, and one lesson at a time. When I first started, I didn’t have a big plan or a polished system — just a passion for dogs, a lot of hands-on experience, and a clear vision of the kind of impact I wanted to make in my community.
In the beginning, everything was on my shoulders. I’d spend my days out training dogs, driving from lesson to lesson, and my nights at a computer teaching myself how to build a website, design programs, and create a structure that made sense to people who had never worked with a trainer before. There were nights where I’d finally sit down after midnight, still answering messages, fixing something on the site, or trying to figure out how to make the next step just a little smoother.
There were moments I questioned if I could keep up — when the growth felt faster than the systems I had, when I was tired but still pushing to build something real. But every obstacle forced me to figure it out. To streamline. To communicate better. To turn what started as a one-person hustle into something organized and clear.
What got me through it was remembering why I started: to help dogs and their people build better lives together. Every long night, every lesson learned the hard way, pushed me to build a stronger foundation. And now, looking at where TM Canine stands today, it’s a reflection of that journey — built with a lot of grit, heart, and persistence.
Great, so let’s talk business. Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
M Canine started as me simply helping a few dogs in my community — and it’s grown into a structured training program built around connection, not just commands. I specialize in real-world training: building confident, balanced dogs that can go anywhere with their people. From obedience to behavior modification and advanced off-leash work, I work with all kinds of dogs, including those with tough behavioral issues.
What truly sets TM Canine apart is the community behind it. I built structured memberships, pop-up events, and rescue partnerships so owners don’t feel alone after a single lesson. We focus on creating lasting results and real support, not quick fixes.
Brand-wise, I’m most proud that everything was built intentionally — from the website to the programs — to make training clear and accessible. TM Canine isn’t just about training dogs. It’s about building better dogs and stronger communities.
Do you have any advice for those looking to network or find a mentor?
To be honest, I’ve never really had a mentor in this field. I built everything by figuring it out the hard way — being honest with myself, transparent with the people I work with, and sometimes being my own harshest critic.
What’s worked best for me isn’t relying on other trainers, but learning through trial, error, and putting everything I’ve got into this every single day. I listen, I observe, I stay open to growth — but I don’t wait for someone to hand me the blueprint.
My advice? Be real. Don’t sugarcoat where you’re at, and don’t be afraid to call yourself out. That kind of honesty — with yourself and others — attracts the right people into your corner. You don’t need a big network to succeed. You need grit, accountability, and a clear sense of who you are.
