Today we’d like to introduce you to Alexis Lecco.
Hi Alexis, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
I am a mom, wife, and teacher. In 2016, I was working at a daycare while going to school to be a teacher. A coworker told me that her job, Complete Weddings and Events, was hiring and she thought I was make a great addition to the team and working the events. I joined the team as a Photo Booth operator. As I graduated, became a teacher, and a mother I continued to work for Complete at their events truly because I loved celebrating people’s special moments with them and making lifetime memories. I truly enjoy making people’s visions come to life. I have been teaching for 7 years but the past two years I have been teaching second and third grade at Create Conservatory which is an arts integration school. Every Friday I do something called “Fun Friday” where I pick a theme, decorate the classroom and then integrate the curriculum in a fun and engaging way. As a mom, I always enjoyed decorating for my kids birthdays. It brings me complete joy to make their day extra special. My experiences as a mom, teaching, and working events as a Photo Booth operator made me realize how much I love decorating and helping people celebrate the special moments in their life. I love to go all out for events and see the smiles on people’s faces. I decided to open my own party business called Happy Campers Parties LLC. It’s called Happy Campers because I originally planned only to do slumber party tee pees. However, the more I dove into the business the more I realized how much I just want to be creative and decorate. I decided to expand and also offer balloon garlands, backdrops, and hand painted custom banners. Now I proudly say that I am a mom, teacher, Photo Booth operator, and party decor business owner.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
The biggest obstacle has been time management with all my roles and many hats I wear. I am learning to balance life and embrace being busy!
We’ve been impressed with Happy Campers Parties LLC, but for folks who might not be as familiar, what can you share with them about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
Happy Campers Parties LLC offers balloon garlands, balloon stacks, backdrops, custom hand painted signs, custom cut outs, and slumber party tee pee set ups. What I am proud of most is the attention to detail and the willingness to go above and beyond to make a clients vision come to life. For example, a client was having a party and wanted a Mack Truck set up. So I made a Mack Truck display. This is not something you just pick off a list or menu. The client told me her budget and her vision and I made it happen. I want readers to know that every single event and booking is important to me and I will take the time to go above and beyond to make their event decor everything they dreamed of. Another thing about Happy Campers Parties LLC is that we don’t just drop off some decor. We set it up how the client likes it and then we will come back and do the clean up as well. I want the client to focus on whatever event they are celebrating. I will take care of the set up and clean up.
