Check Out Janine Margewicz’s Story

Today we’d like to introduce you to Janine Margewicz.

Janine, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
After a career in the film industry, traveling and experiencing different cultures, I desired a change and wanted to help others. During that time, I had been in a car accident resulting in constant headaches. After trying all of the traditional treatments, and getting no results, acupuncture was presented to me and after just 1 session, it worked.

Then I had a God moment…while searching the internet on natural healing education, a banner on the top of the page for Chiropractic school was the word ACUPUNCTURE. After much prayer, and further research into acupuncture schools, accreditations, different techniques and readding basic books on understanding acupuncture, I settled on a school.

With nearly 20 years in private practice, West Orlando Acupuncture has helped with over 30 Acu-babies, pain issues both acute and chronic, mental emotional disorders and just about every auto immune issue. I use a software system, the AcuGraph which combines ancient theory with modern technology giving us a view of what is happening inside the body. This results in a graph of the imbalances in the organs and blood and energy flow.

Also, I have added the highest quality Thermography imaging available. Thermography offers a non invasive, safe view of the temperature patterns present on the skin, which shows where inflammation are present. Inflammation is the precursor to all issues. And by identifying irregular thermal patterns, working alongside the results from the Acugraph, we are able to treat the root cause.

West Orlando Acupuncture is looking at the whole person, with a holistic approach, listening to patient, the body, the symptoms, and using the latest technology to find the root cause of the problem.
Root cause medicine is the past, present and future of all medicine.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
What is a smooth road with any small business? All roads have bumps, curves and sometimes ditches. West Orlando Acupuncture is no different. I spent the 1st five years treating patients, not taking a paycheck, but reinvesting 100% of the income back into making my dream of bringing holistic healthcare and Chinese medicine to Winter Garden.

2020 offered the most off road experience the practice has had, but here we are still helping others. Truly understanding holistic healthcare, the body and being a research nerd, I saw irregular patterns in the information portrayed by the media. With that, I had a lot of backlash and lost a few clients. Thankfully, the research that I had been doing over those years has finally hit the mainstream media and is welcomed.

As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
Well, that is a lot to think about…
First I have to say that I specialize in truly listening, to the person, their mannerisms, expressions, eyes, skin tone, frame and more even before assessing their reason for the visit. I also have a gift of being able to connect with most people. Both of those together help people feel at ease around me. Since Chinese medicine can help treat virtually any ailment, and requires honestly and vulnerability, I want everyone to feel safe in the environment.
With my background in set decorating and props, from my previous career in film, I have designed a beach themed office. People feel very relaxed at the beach and this even offers a topic of conversation, when they enter the office.
And since my faith sits at the very core of who I am, I have a 135 year bible visible. A Christ following Acupuncturist is very rare, so that sets me apart as well.
I also love the ancient theories combined with the modern technology to offer the most comprehensive approach to healing.
I am most proud of my work life balance. I have been able to raise 2 daughters, while running a practice. I have not missed 1 school event and have been able to see 40 patients a week with great success, all while maintaining a healthy and happy 25 year marriage.

What would you say have been one of the most important lessons you’ve learned?
The most important lesson I have learned, is that God does give you more than you can handle. In fact, He does this so that you can be humbled and lean on Him. Also, as life offers you grace, that is only so you can show grace to others.
