Today we’d like to introduce you to Kristine Concepcion.
Hi Kristine, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
Honestly, I never planned on becoming an authenticity coach. My journey started after going through some really hard personal experiences, including a divorce, that forced me to take a hard look at myself and my life. I realized I had spent most of my life being there for everyone else and had completely forgotten who I was. That wake up call led me onto a healing and self-discovery journey. I learned how to rebuild my confidence, find my voice again, and trust myself. As I started to grow, I realized how many people around me were quietly feeling the same way. Successful outside but disconnected on the inside. Feeling alone, lost and confused. That really pushed me to start coaching. I wanted to help people who feel lost, stuck or unsure of themselves find their way back to their genuine, authentic selves.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Definitely not smooth. Starting something new, especially after a few huge life changes, came with a lot of doubt and fear. I had to push through that voice and anxiety that say, “Who do you think you are?” Many times I second-guess myself, I still do actually. I struggled to be consistent because of my fears. But I know that the messiness was part of the process, part of the journey. I faced a lot of fears, including solo traveling spending a month in Italy and another in Thailand. I pushed myself out of my comfort zone and that showed me, actually reminded me, of who I am and what I love.
Thanks – so what else should our readers know about GenuineLee?
I’m an authenticity coach, GenuineLee, who helps people rebuild confidence and reconnect with themselves after they’ve gone through something that really shook their identity. Whether it’s a breakup, divorce, a big life transition, generational trauma, or just feeling lost in who they’ve become.
My coaching style is very real, genuine, encouraging but yet challenging. I help people unpack their patterns, work through with deep reflection, understand where they come from, and take action toward creating a life that actually feels aligned. It’s about building confidence from the inside out and not performing.
What I’m most proud of is how people feel after meeting with me. My clients tell me they finally feel seen and understood that they can be honest about their fears, doubts, and hopes without judgement. That’s what I value most, creating safe spaces for real conversations.
That’s also what inspired Bochinche & Bizcocho (Sunday, Nov 16 3-5 pm at Barnett Park- more info at genuinelee.com/talkshiteatcake) – an event I created with my best friend to bring people together for honest conversations about healing, growth, and everything in between. This is about creating a safe space for people to remove their masks and be honest with what they’re working through. It’s a cultural community gathering talking about real deep conversations with a bit of cake! To me, it’s a reflection of what my coaching is all about, connection, vulnerability and reminding people they’re not alone in their journey.
What would you say have been one of the most important lessons you’ve learned?
The biggest lesson I’ve learned is that healing and growth aren’t linear. They require honesty, patience and a lot of self-compassion. Some seasons are about rebuilding and others about resting, which both are very important. The more I gave myself permission to move at my own pace and stop comparing myself to others and celebrate my own wins, big and small, the more grounded and confident I became. Like I said, it’s a rollercoaster with some days feeling stronger than others but all are valid and leading to growth. I’m also learning to be okay with being seen and not just the polished, strong, independent version of me. But the whole me. I hid behind strength and independence, but it wasn’t until I let people see my vulnerability that true connection and growth started happening.
