Stevél Reyes shared their story and experiences with us recently and you can find our conversation below.
Stevél, it’s always a pleasure to learn from you and your journey. Let’s start with a bit of a warmup: Have any recent moments made you laugh or feel proud?
Recently, I began forming my own community of artist within Florida through social media and in person interactions at shows, concerts and showcases. I realized through a lot of the engagement that I’ve been receiving on social media and feedback that people really do love the journey of an artist. People love to be a part of the beginning stages of something and watching it progress into something beautiful. After realizing this, I began opening up my Studio sessions to Artist within Orlando and it’s gotten to the point where now I have around 30 maybe 40 people and we’re all in the studio recording collaborating networking somebody on the side is producing a new beat and shooting music videos at the same time. I remember this last Studio session I had a few weeks ago. I just took off my headphones and just seeing everybody all in one room working together and supporting each other made me feel such a sense of accomplishment. Like I always say this is bigger than music. This is for the culture.
Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
Hey everybody, so I wanna take a moment to introduce myself for those of you that may not know me. My name is Stevél Reyes, and I’m a music artist based in Orlando, Florida! I’ve been making music since 13 but professionally been releasing music for about three years now. Since moving out in Florida, I’ve began releasing music under my new collective name, Reyes records, and producing music in both English and Spanish bridging the gap between the two cultures themselves. My mission has always been about the people in the culture in bringing authenticity to the forefront of the entertainment industry. With God at the center of all my business moves. My collective Reyes records is looking to launch outreach programs this upcoming new year of 2026. You can follow along and join us on our journey on all social media platforms which will be linked below!
Great, so let’s dive into your journey a bit more. What did you believe about yourself as a child that you no longer believe?
I remember growing up I felt extremely powerless to change my situation. I always had a sense of being different and a desire to change the world, but my reality did not seem permitting. I felt the odds stacked against me, as if I was never supposed to succeed all that I envisioned at such an early age. Through Christ, I’ve been able to gather the outcast and make something beautiful out of nothing. Despite language barriers and cultural differences, we are all one people. I now no longer believe that I am powerless, but instead am capable of doing all things through Christ, who strengthens me.
Was there ever a time you almost gave up?
Yeah, I believe any Artist or business professional has gone through times of wanting to give up. Ask any entrepreneur. They’ll tell you that this life is not meant for everyone. This life is not easy. Recently, I was wrestling with the notion that what I was doing wasn’t enough. That I wasn’t making any difference. And it’s so funny how timing can be so divine. Because in that moment of self-doubt immediately, people began reaching out and telling me how much my music has impacted them. People telling me how much they enjoy the community that I’ve been able to establish. I don’t believe in coincidences, but I do believe in God and as long as I have breath in my lungs, I have purpose on this earth and quitting is never an option.
Alright, so if you are open to it, let’s explore some philosophical questions that touch on your values and worldview. What are the biggest lies your industry tells itself?
I believe some of the biggest lies within the entertainment industry is that if you don’t have big numbers like other mainstream Artist, you failed. Comparison is the thief of joy and to be honest with you if you have someone who’s willing to buy your product and support you at your shows and share your music you’ve won. You don’t need the validation and approval of the entertainment industry to do what you know you were meant to do. The world doesn’t need another Drake, Chris Brown, or Justin Bieber. We already have those guys, what the world needs is you!
Okay, we’ve made it essentially to the end. One last question before you go. What do you think people will most misunderstand about your legacy?
I think people will mostly misunderstand why I do what I do within the entertainment industry. People all the time assume that I’m in this for the materialistic riches. Fame means nothing to me. The money means nothing to me. The parties mean nothing to me. All of that comes and goes. All of that will be forgotten. When people look back and remember you, it won’t be for any of those things. People will remember how you made them feel. So while people may assume that I’m in this for those materialistic reasons, what won’t be misunderstood is my character. Because I aim to inspire. I’m here to shift the narrative.
