Gina Boyett of Cocoa Beach on Life, Lessons & Legacy

We’re looking forward to introducing you to Gina Boyett. Check out our conversation below.

Hi Gina, thank you for taking the time to reflect back on your journey with us. I think our readers are in for a real treat. There is so much we can all learn from each other and so thank you again for opening up with us. Let’s get into it: What is something outside of work that is bringing you joy lately?
Spending time with family

Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
We’re a full-service digital marketing agency based on Florida’s Space Coast, specializing in helping brands grow through authentic storytelling, strategic creativity, and data-driven results.

Our team is passionate about transforming businesses into brands that people remember. From web design and SEO to social media management, branding, and paid advertising, we take a holistic approach to every project, ensuring each piece of the puzzle aligns with our client’s goals and voice.

What makes Shape Shift Marketing unique is our heart for community and the diversity of industries we serve. We’ve helped everyone from local start-ups to national school networks, tourism organizations, and e-commerce brands stand out in competitive markets. Our creative work has not only driven measurable growth but also built genuine relationships between brands and their audiences.

Right now, we’re focused on expanding our storytelling-driven campaigns, elevating tourism and education marketing, and helping more businesses leverage social media in meaningful, results-oriented ways.

At our core, Shape Shift is more than a marketing agency—we’re partners in growth, helping businesses evolve, adapt, and thrive in an ever-changing digital landscape.

Thanks for sharing that. Would love to go back in time and hear about how your past might have impacted who you are today. Who saw you clearly before you could see yourself?
My grandfather

What did suffering teach you that success never could?
Suffering taught me resilience in a way that success never could. Success feels good — it validates your efforts and gives you confidence. But suffering humbles you. It strips away ego, comfort, and certainty, forcing you to look inward and discover what you’re really made of.

Through hard seasons — when clients fell through, when projects didn’t go as planned, when I questioned my own abilities — I learned patience, empathy, and gratitude. I learned that growth doesn’t always look like winning; sometimes it looks like showing up, even when things are heavy.

Suffering also taught me perspective. Success can make you chase more, but pain reminds you of why you started. It taught me to build from a place of purpose, not pressure, and to appreciate small victories just as much as big milestones.

In short, success gave me confidence — but suffering gave me character.

Sure, so let’s go deeper into your values and how you think. Is the public version of you the real you?
d say the public version of me is a real part of me—but not the whole picture. What people see publicly is the polished, confident, go-getter side that leads a team, runs a business, and shows up for clients and the community. That version is real—but it’s also the result of years of growth, lessons, and sometimes, holding it together when things felt uncertain behind the scenes.

Thank you so much for all of your openness so far. Maybe we can close with a future oriented question. What is the story you hope people tell about you when you’re gone?
I hope people say that I made things better — that I left people, projects, and places stronger than I found them. That I built something real, not just in business, but in the way I treated others.

I want my story to be one of purpose — that I led with heart, that I created opportunities for others to grow, and that I never forgot where I came from. I hope people remember the way I made them feel — seen, valued, inspired, and capable of more than they realized.
