Jamie Cuzmar’s journey to becoming a trusted estate planning attorney is a story of vision, resilience, and a deep commitment to helping families protect what matters most. Born in Maryland and raised in Central Florida, Jamie has always considered the Sunshine State his home. His early career began far from the courtroom—in the fast-paced world of telecommunications, where he managed complex contracts and negotiated multimillion-dollar agreements for national companies. Driven by a desire to make a more personal impact, Jamie pursued his Juris Doctor at Florida A&M University College of Law after earning a Business Administration degree from the University of Florida. It was during law school that he discovered his passion for estate planning and probate—a field that allowed him to combine his technical expertise with a heartfelt mission: guiding families through life’s most important transitions with clarity and care.
In 2021, Jamie founded Cuzmar Law, PLLC, a boutique firm dedicated to estate planning, probate administration, and asset protection. His approach is simple yet powerful: every client deserves a plan that reflects their values, safeguards their legacy, and adapts to life’s changes. Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Jamie became a proud single father in his early 20’s. With no family nearby to help, Jamie had to delay law school for about a decade. It wasn’t until he met his wife, Karen, that he could tackle working full-time while attend law school in the evenings. Having to attend to his career, studies, and family was a bit of a challenge. However, with the support of his kid’s and spouse, Jamie was able to press on and fulfill his dream of opening his own law firm.
