Meet Felicia Brenya of Clermont Florida

Today we’d like to introduce you to Felicia Brenya.

Hi Felicia, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
FeebeePaints started at our church! They knew I had a passion for art, so they asked me and my two daughters to do face painting for an Easter event. We tried it, fell in love, and realized we wanted to do more. That was about seven years ago, and since then, we’ve grown into a full-fledged family-run event entertainment business. Over the years, we’ve had the joy of working on everything from large corporate events with big companies to the most intimate birthday parties. Along the way, we’ve met some of the kindest people and built wonderful connections. My daughters have grown with the business. My older daughter is in her 3rd year of college at UCF and is still a big part of the business, painting and running events, while my younger daughter, now a senior in high school, is also an amazing face painter and balloon artist. Beyond face painting, we offer a variety of fun experiences like balloon twisting, glitter tattoos, Fairy Hair, Henna, Waterproof Facepainting, Event Planning, and even our Soda Studio and cotton candy bar. Every event is an opportunity for us to bring a little more creativity, joy, and sparkle into people’s lives. I’ve also had the chance to teach face painting around the world, including back home in London, England. It’s been amazing to share what I know with other artists, and it’s definitely helped us refine our skills and bring an even higher level of creativity to every event we do.

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
It hasn’t always been smooth. One of the biggest challenges was during covid because we couldn’t work with other people at all, which was really hard because that’s the core of what we do. But we ended up using that time to practice a ton. My daughters and I would spend hours experimenting with new techniques, trying out different designs, and really perfecting our skills. They got reallly tired of having their faces painted lol. It was definitely strange not being able to connect with our customers during that time as well, but it helped us focus and improve our craft. On top of that, I’m a full-time art teacher . I teach students from kindergarten through 12th grade, so managing my classroom and making sure every student is engaged and learning is a big responsibility. Then there’s running FeebeePaints on weekends and evenings. We manage coordinating events, supplies, and schedules. Everyone’s schedule in the family, including college, high school, and teaching, keeps us working seven days a week and can be really challenging. Finding time to take a break or recharge is tough, but it’s necessary to keep things running smoothly. Despite all of this, these challenges have taught us so much about how to stay organized, be creative, adapt to anything, and work together as a family. They’ve made us stronger and better prepared for every event we do.

As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?

At FeebeePaints, it’s about more than just designs; it’s about creating joy, connection, and lasting memories at every event

Are there any apps, books, podcasts, blogs or other resources you think our readers should check out?
We’re mostly self-taught, and a lot of what we know comes from growing up in a naturally creative family. Art has always been the foundation for almost everything we do. We’ve learned techniques from our large family that aren’t specific to face painting, like mixing colors, thinking about composition, and creating designs that flow naturally, and we apply those skills to every aspect of our work. Our business is deeply rooted in our Christian faith. The principles we learn from the Bible guide how we approach our work, our relationships with clients, and how we interact with people. It helps us stay grounded, approach challenges with patience, and strive to do our best in all we do. Even though we’re largely self-taught, we continue to learn from other artists when we can through tutorials, experimentation, and mentorship, but everything is filtered through our creativity and our faith, which gives us purpose and perspective in both life and work.
