Community Highlights: Meet Maile Haire of MH Wedding Planning

Today we’d like to introduce you to Maile Haire.

Hi Maile, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
For as long as I can remember, weddings felt like pure magic to me. Even as a little girl, I was enchanted by the bride in all her beauty, the songs that instantly pull you into the moment, and the way a room could transform into something straight out of a fairytale. But it wasn’t until I attended my first wedding at fourteen that everything truly clicked. I stood there completely mesmerized, taking in every detail, and finally asked my mom, “Who creates all of this?” When she told me about wedding planners, it was like a light switched on inside me. In that moment, I knew I had found the dream I wanted to chase.
In college, I earned my wedding and event planning certification and studied event management. Over the next four years, I worked throughout the industry—shadowing a planner, working at a venue, and learning from so many talented professionals. Each experience shaped me in different ways, and I’m forever grateful for everyone who welcomed me in and helped me grow.
I always knew I wanted to start my own business, and for a long time I played with branding ideas and website concepts in my spare time, just waiting for the right moment. That moment came when a friend from my hometown reached out and asked if I would help with her wedding. The timing felt perfect, and I knew the stars had aligned. Her wedding became the beginning of everything for me and still holds such a special place in my heart. Shortly after taking on her day, I officially announced MH, and everything naturally fell into place from there.
Now, a little over a year and a half later, I look back at all the weddings I’ve been part of and feel nothing but gratitude. I’m so excited for the celebrations still to come—especially the beautiful weddings planned for 2026. This work is something I truly love, and I pour my whole heart into every single event. Every wedding is so special, and I feel lucky to be a part of it.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
I’m really fortunate to say that the business side of things has been a smooth road—successful weddings, happy clients, and a calendar that filled up faster than I ever expected. But the biggest challenge wasn’t anything external; it was the quiet battle happening in my own mind. I struggled with believing I was good enough, ready enough, and deserving of stepping into this dream. I worried whether people would take me seriously since my business was new and I was younger than many others in the industry.

Learning to silence those doubts and trust myself was the hardest part. But the universe gave me the nudge I needed, and deep down I knew the timing was right. We really can be our own toughest critics, but once everything started falling into place, those worries slowly melted away. With every wedding, I’m reminded of how much I truly love what I do—it is the most rewarding feeling in the world, and it affirms that I am doing exactly what I am meant to be doing.

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about MH Wedding Planning?
I started this business to bring a refined perspective back into the wedding industry—one that celebrates the beauty found in simplicity. I believe weddings don’t need to be extravagant or overwhelmingly expensive to be meaningful; it’s the intentional details that reflect who the couple truly is that make a day unforgettable. What sets me apart is the collaborative, personal approach I take with every client. I keep communication open, consistent, and comfortable so they always feel supported not just by a planner, but by someone who feels like a friend walking alongside them. Planning should be fun and enjoyable, even through the stressful moments, and that’s at the heart of everything I do. I’ve built MH to offer something for everyone—from day-of coordination and partial planning to full-service packages, plus custom event options for any type of celebration. I’m genuinely excited to take on any wedding or event, whether it’s local or destination, an intimate micro ceremony or a 200+ guest celebration. At the end of the day, I truly love the art of celebrating and bringing people together, and I pour that passion into every moment I help create.

Who else deserves credit in your story?
I was very fortunate to have incredible learning experiences early on in the wedding world. Christina Kopecki, a wedding planner in Jacksonville, gave me my very first opportunity in 2020, and I learned so much from her. She was truly exceptional at what she did, and getting to shadow her and absorb her knowledge was such an honor. I am forever grateful that she welcomed me in and opened the door to this industry. I also owe so much to Up the Creek Farms in Malabar, Florida. That team will always hold a special place in my heart—they gave me my first taste of being a “head planner” and taught me so much about venue logistics, creating timelines, and countless little tips I still carry with me today. And of course, I owe endless gratitude to my family. I am incredibly lucky to have such supportive parents, a sister who always shows up for me, and friends who truly feel like family. My parents encouraged me to chase my dreams no matter what it took, reassuring me that they’d be there through every step. The community I’m surrounded by is something I never take for granted, and their support never goes unnoticed.
