Today we’d like to introduce you to Daniel Singer.
Hi Daniel, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
Why Mobile Optical? With many years in the Optical Field, I noticed a need for patients to have routine services brought directly to them. This was evident when seeing patients in the office who had eyewear in various states of disrepair; such as broken or missing parts, poor alignment or needing adjustment, scratched or deteriorated lens, and worn or damaged frames. These patients were suffering from lack of clear vision due to the condition of their eyeglasses, simply because they could not get to the optical shop for needed service like adjustments, cleanings, repairs or new Eyewear purchases.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
It’s often slow when gaining momentum in starting a new venture. The main focus I am engaging in currently is creating awareness that the services Tropic Optics offers are available.
Getting the word out to our local communities and residents is crucial for any person struggling to get service for their eyewear delivered directly to where they are; home, office, retirement communities, assisted care facilities, schools, etc
Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
About Tropic Optics Mobile Optician: Envisioned and created by Daniel Singer in early 2024 to bring professional quality eyewear services to patients at your home, office, etc; eliminating the hassle of travel and wait times.
About me: Daniel is a Florida Licensed Optician, Lic# DO4948 with 30 years experience. He is a long-time resident of Brevard County with family and community ties. His experience includes retail offices, optometry and ophthalmology clinics. His expertise includes working with all ages, including special needs. He is also Nationally Certified with ABO and NCLE, and is involved with Optician Professional Organizations.
Daniel’s broad range of experience has endowed him with knowledge and skills to assist a variety of eyewear needs, and specialty eyewear solutions, tailored for each individual’s and location for everyone’s personal best vision.
Can you tell us more about what you were like growing up?
I moved to Melbourne Beach in 1978 when I was still in grade school, a great place to live and experience the beauty and diversity of one of Florida’s best coastal communities. I love spending time outdoors, in nature, and especially near the ocean. My father was very much a naturalist and instilled upon me a deep appreciation for our surroundings and preserving our environment.
I have always had a curious mind, wanting to understand how things work and why. I love to take things apart and rebuild them and have enjoyed being able to do my own work on vehicles, home maintenance and repairs, etc.
Being technically minded, I took to the Optics Profession quickly. Additionally, I really enjoy working with people and being of service.
