Today we’d like to introduce you to Tomas and Kelly Urbanik.
Hi Tomas and Kelly, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
Tomas and I have been in the healthcare industry for the past two decades. We have learned a lot and worked with many amazing healthcare practitioners. Throughout our time in the healthcare industry, we realized we wanted to do something more personal and unique to better serve our patients. Three years ago we started WG Health Solutions so we could meet patients where they are in terms of their health needs, time constraints, and priorities. We also wanted to create something that would allow us to spend more time with our children and provide them with a framework for their future career opportunities.
We provide services for both physical therapy and nutrition to patients in their home, by telemedicine, or in their location of choice. No drive time and flexible appointment times lets the patient focus in improving their health with less distractions. We like providing a unique service and working with patients who are motivated to get better. Growing a business has been a challenge, but we have learned a lot personally and professionally. Over the past year and a half, we have seen an increase in patient referrals. A lot of responses we hear is that people didn’t even know this type of service was an option. There is definitely importance in marketing and providing quality care! We look forward to what the future holds.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
We’ve both been in the healthcare industry for two decades, so the healthcare services came easy. The hard part was learning how to open a business, run a business and everything in between. Between marketing, website development, insurance/benefits, finances, and more, we didn’t realize how much “non-healthcare” we would be doing. Also, dealing with being too busy or not busy enough forced us to be innovative and adaptable.
Thanks – so what else should our readers know about WG Health Solutions LLC?
We would love people to know about our Mobile PT and Nutrition services because a lot of people don’t even know that outpatient physical therapy in your home is an option. Also, it can be difficult to find Registered Dietitian/Nutritionists and we can provide that service in-home or via telemedicine. We our proud of the support we have received from our families, friends, other small business owners and our patients. It can be difficult to find a niche in an extremely large healthcare industry, but we feel that we are on our way!
Where do you see things going in the next 5-10 years?
Artificial Intelligence (AI) has really impacted our world in the last 2 years and healthcare is not immune from this trend. Most likely AI will be drawing things further from working directly with people, but we want to continue to provide that personal touch. We strive to continue to reach people who care about personalized medicine and quality care.
