Today we’d like to introduce you to Ben Homan.
Hi Ben, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
Sure. My story really begins with curiosity and a willingness to figure things out as I go. I’ve always been drawn to creative problem-solving and finding ways to build meaningful things — whether it was designing websites in college, launching a startup, or helping someone bring their idea to life.
After graduating from Liberty University with a degree in Graphic Design and Business, I started Skillful Antics — a boutique web and marketing agency that has grown over the years to serve clients locally and across the country. What started as a one-man operation evolved into a team that now manages full digital campaigns, brand identities, and custom development work for everyone from small business owners to city governments.
Along the way, I also launched and helped lead several ventures in different industries — property management, lead generation, even philanthropic projects like The Indelible Project, which exists to help people live and give with purpose. Whether it’s coaching a nonprofit, helping a business grow, or building something for my own family, the through-line has always been the same: create value, live intentionally, and leave something better than I found it.
I’m also a dad to six amazing kids, and that role continues to shape how I prioritize, think, and lead. Today, I get to do work I love with people I respect — and help others build things that matter. That’s a pretty incredible place to be.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
Entrepreneurship is full of sharp turns and unexpected detours, and I’ve faced my fair share. From navigating cash flow in the early years to learning how to lead people well, there’s been a continual process of growth, adjustment, and humility.
Some of the toughest seasons came when life and business collided. Going through a divorce while running a company, raising six kids, and trying to stay rooted was deeply refining. It forced me to re-evaluate not only how I worked, but why I worked. It reminded me that success without health — relational, emotional, spiritual — isn’t really success at all.
There have also been times where I said yes to too much, carried too much, or expected too much — and I had to learn (and relearn) the art of boundaries, the importance of rest, and the value of asking for help.
But in all of it, I’ve grown. The struggles shaped me into someone who now builds with greater empathy, leads with clearer purpose, and understands that the road isn’t supposed to be smooth — it’s supposed to build something in you.
Great, so let’s talk business. Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
Skillful Antics is a boutique creative agency I started to bridge the gap between high-level design and everyday business owners. We specialize in web design, online marketing, automation, and branding — all tailored to help small and mid-sized companies grow without getting overwhelmed by tech or trends. Whether it’s building a sleek new website, setting up lead funnels, managing online ads, or creating automations that save time, we help companies connect with their audiences and convert traffic into growth.
What sets us apart is the blend of strategic thinking, creative execution, and personal service. We don’t just build websites — we build systems that work with our clients and for their businesses. We’ve helped everything from local non-profits and contractors to healthcare providers and eCommerce shops streamline their online presence and grow smarter, not harder.
I’m most proud that we’ve remained approachable and community-rooted while delivering agency-quality work. Our clients stick with us not just because we’re good at what we do, but because we genuinely care — and it shows in our support, responsiveness, and results.
At the heart of Skillful Antics is the belief that clarity wins. Clear messaging, clear design, and clear strategy make all the difference. If you’re a business owner looking for a team that gets it, cuts through the noise, and helps you move forward with confidence — we’d love to meet you.
Is there a quality that you most attribute to your success?
The quality that has most shaped my success is resourcefulness — the ability to figure things out, adapt quickly, and find a way forward even when the path isn’t obvious. Whether I’m building a new brand, solving a complex marketing challenge, or navigating the realities of running a business and raising a family, being resourceful has allowed me to stay steady, creative, and forward-moving.
It’s not about having all the answers from the start — it’s about being willing to ask the right questions, stay teachable, and push through the messiness of growth with grit and humility. In a world that changes fast, that one trait has helped me help others thrive, too.
