Today we’d like to introduce you to Lynne Gibson.
Hi lynne , we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
My story begins in the Bronx, where as a young girls I was inspired by my family, their love of music and the multiple musical styles that filled my ears with inspiration . I was also blessed to live down the street from Joe Ebler, who’s father was an executive at Elektra Asylum Records. Lucky me, I had every newly pressed vinyl before the radio stations had their change to spin them.
In the 1990’s I was accepted to the University of South Florida to study classical guitar with Adam Holzman. It wasn’t easy being the only female guitar student but I didn’t let the “not easy” stop me . After my second year, my teacher accepted an opportunity at a different university, I decided to relocate to Orlando where the artsy vibe felt a bit more like NYC. I was accepted at the University of Central Florida where I focused on a degree in education. I was blessed yet again to teach music for Orange County Public schools. Throughout my teaching career, I have continued to perform, all over Central Florida and at songwriter events in Nashville . I am currently producing my fourth album with an anticipated release date the summer of 2026. I guess you could say my journey has created the music artist, songwriter and producer I am today. My daughter says “I married music a long time ago.” and she’s not wrong !
The Lynne Gibson Band has a show on February 27, at the Blue Bamboo Performing Arts Center and we would love for you to attend.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
The road is always bumpy but thats where inspiration is born.
Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
Performing Artist, Songwriter, and Music Producer. Producing music in the comfort my home studio, is what I’am most proud of. It’s not easy and it takes time. My friend and follow music producer Randy once told me . “if it were easy, everyone would be doing it.” The “not easy” is where one learns and becomes better at the creative process.
Can you talk to us about how you think about risk?
I don’t view myself as a risk taker. I often remind myself, “Lynne, you better be rehearsed and know your material.”
