Check Out Sabrina Porter’s Story

Today we’d like to introduce you to Sabrina Porter.

Hi Sabrina, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
I started with Culver’s when I was 17 just about to graduate from high school in 2015. I have dedicated my time to working through the different positions and management to push myself to learn everything that I can. Over my 11 years with Culver’s I have worked at a couple different locations while honing my skills to build and grow to be a great leader. 2021 was the year I entered the mentee program; this is a special program culver’s offers where if the owner of your location wants to mentor you to help you grow into a business owner and then becomes your business partner. The mentee program gave me an opportunity I never thought I would be able to achieve. Through interviews, tests, classes, and even a heartfelt Culver’s graduation I finished the program granting me the ability to open a Culver’s franchise. Through training, dedication, support, and trust I worked on building and training my amazing team to prepare for opening my franchise. That isn’t something I ever thought I would be able to say at the age of 18, I finally had my grand opening for Culver’s of Leesburg this past year on November 10th 2025. I am now working with my management team and amazing crew teach others to grow their skills so that we can be the best that we can be.

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
Opening the Culver’s was not a smooth road. During the mentee process between the tests and the interviews, I didn’t get a yes right away. I did get the yes it was a possibility that also came with a list of items that I needed to learn either how to do better or how to do them entirely. I felt discouraged and like all the work I had put in wasn’t enough. With help from my family and my loving fiance I pushed for what I wanted and with the help of my mentor I was able to get accomplished.

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
I am the owner operator of a Culver’s franchise! I run the business from day to day as well as train my team how to grow in their respective areas. Whether that be from team members or management everyone can learn and grow. I make sure they know that no question is a stupid question and that anything is possible if they try hard enough. Culver’s is most known for our Butter Burgers which are fresh never frozen midwest raised beef that are seared to perfection and assembled with your favorite toppings on a lightly buttered and toasted bun. Of course we also can’t leave out the fresh frozen custard, made in small batches through out the day to give it that fresh and creamy texture that we love to customize with toppings. I am the most proud that this was something I was able to accomplish in my life and that I can use my story to show others if you work hard enough and with enough time, patience and determination you can reach any goal. What sets me apart from others is that if I hit an obstacle I always try everything to overcome it without giving up right away.

What do you like best about our city? What do you like least?
Leesburg has the most amazing sunsets on the water and over the private airport that I have ever seen. Working hard and getting to watch the sunset everyday now that sounds pretty perfect to me. I also love that other cities are so close and withing 20 minutes I can enjoy the views of someone else’s every day life. My only complaint would have to be the stoplight in front of my business that is always red too long for everyone’s liking.
