Meet Joshua Montalvo

Today we’d like to introduce you to Joshua Montalvo.

Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
I started out watching my brother make music, and I heard him rap and didn’t find much interest in what was said but rather what instruments made up the song. I fell in love with the beat, and then one day I downloaded fruity loops and then tried to make beats for several months. After one month of making beats, I got my first sale and I sold the beat for 25 dollars. After that, I realized that if I can do this four times, I made 100 and so forth so I kept going. Luckily after racking up a few placements with artists, I joined a producer collective called overlord mafia and then about a month into being with them, I was invited to a trip to Atlanta. Yes, I went to that trip I kid you, not with 200 dollars and had no idea of how I would be able to even survive my days there. Luckily I ran into a person by the name of Danny wolf. Dannywolf is my current manager now and I would never be where I am today if it wasn’t for him. While building a strong relationship with him we racked up placements with artists such as Chris brown Lil baby moneybagg yo yungeen ace and many more.

We all face challenges, but looking back, would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Somewhat, me and my family before all I were not financially stable at all, and it is difficult as well to build the connections that I have acquired today.

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
I specialize in music production and audio engineering I’m known for my aggressive 808s and drum bounce in my beats. I am most proud of being able to work with my favorite artists and being able to sign my first management deal with dannywolf, all during my first year of producing. What I feel sets me apart is my aggressive 808s and just how I’m all about vibes so no relationship is forced with me.

Where do you see things going in the next 5-10 years?
I see me becoming one of the world’s greatest producers and audio engineers and I see everyone in the coming years to say, “hey, I want a wave beat”.
