Rising Stars: Meet Mike And Deanna Geier of Ocala, FL

Today we’d like to introduce you to Mike And Deanna Geier.

Hi Mike and Deanna, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
Music has always been at the center of our lives. Mike and I spent years in California writing and producing songs together for artists, television, and national commercial projects. Many of those placements were songs we wrote side by side.

As our family grew, we felt called to build something more personal. We relocated to Ocala and created Recording Ranch, a multimedia studio designed to combine high-level production with a warm, welcoming environment.

Today, Mike leads the production and engineering, and I lead the marketing and business side. Together, we’ve built a space where both artists and everyday people can record meaningful projects whether that’s a radio-ready single or a song that captures a personal story.

Recording Ranch is really the intersection of our marriage, our creativity, and our faith.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
It definitely hasn’t been a smooth road.

Like many musicians, Mike once dreamed of being a rock star. We spent years immersed in the music industry and were grateful for the opportunities we had, but over time we felt the weight and burnout that can come with that pace. Eventually, we stepped away from it completely and shifted our focus to another passion of ours, real estate and fix-and-flip projects. For a season, we truly thought music might be behind us.

Then God began redirecting our steps.

We made the difficult decision to leave everything familiar and move to Ocala, trusting the call even when we did not fully understand it. Looking back now, we can clearly see His hand in that move.

Building out Recording Ranch took more than a year of hard work, patience, and faith. There were moments of uncertainty and stretching, but today we are incredibly grateful. What we once laid down was given back in a more purposeful way.

As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
At Recording Ranch, we produce music and multimedia content with a strong focus on quality, authenticity, and creative excellence. Mike leads production, engineering, and instrumentation, and together we’ve written and produced songs across country, Christian, pop, rock, and singer-songwriter genres. Our work has been featured on major television networks, national commercials, and industry-level projects.

We love working with local musicians such as Heather Lynne, RoomsLiving, Noah Hunton, Nathanael Mitchell to name a few. Since moving to Ocala, one of the most notable opportunities was working on a project connected to Shania Twain. That experience reinforced the level of excellence we strive to bring into every session, whether we’re working with a seasoned artist or someone recording their very first song. Beyond music production, we also produce music videos, social media reels, artist interviews, and we are preparing to open dedicated podcast rooms to serve creators, business owners, and thought leaders who want professional, high-quality content.

What sets us apart is that we understand both the creative and business sides of the industry. We’re most proud that we built Recording Ranch together. It reflects our faith, our work ethic, and our commitment to excellence. Artists leave with exceptional content and a production experience that feels both professional and personal.

What’s next?
We’re expanding beyond music into full-scale multimedia production. Our video division is growing to include more music videos, branded content, and high-end social media production, supported by our professional cyc wall for clean, studio-quality visuals. We’re also preparing to launch dedicated podcast rooms, continuing to build a creative hub in Ocala for both artists and entrepreneurs.
