Today we’d like to introduce you to Brian Foshee.
Hi Brian, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
Brian “B Happie” Foshee’s story is about more than becoming a magician—it’s about curiosity, innovation, and the courage to ignore the nay-sayer’s.
At age 14, Brian discovered a small magic shop in his hometown of Johnstown, Pennsylvania and he was fascinated. He spent every spare moment learning, practicing, and performing, captivated by magic’s unique ability to create wonder and transform the way people see the world.
After college, that passion grew into a career. “The more people asked if I was looking for a real job or asked how I would support myself, the more driven i became.” Brian became a full-time professional entertainer in 1998. Within a few years, he was performing hundreds of shows annually and had founded B. Happie Entertainment, a company that produced more than 1,000 events each year.
But Brian’s greatest success wasn’t measured by applause or bookings. In 2007, at the height of his career, he made a different choice—one centered on family. He stepped away from the fast track and returned to his hometown so his children could grow up surrounded by family, community, and the values that mattered most.
Today, Brian lives in Oviedo, Florida, Both kids were awarded Florida Bright Futures scholarships. His oldest son Caleb just graduated from University of Central Florida and working in the golf industry. His younger child Gavin is a sophomore in college and working toward becoming a professional magician like his dad.
Brian combines decades of performance experience with a deep understanding of human behavior, creativity, and engagement. Through The B Happie Show, Magic, Murder, Mystery – The Experience, and his corporate programs focused on innovation and team development, Brian helps audiences rediscover something many adults have lost: a sense of wonder.
His philosophy is simple: genuine amazement creates a unique experience in the brain, opening the mind to new ideas. Something most people haven’t had since they were a child. They become more curious, more creative, and more receptive to new ideas. Whether entertaining a crowd, doing team-building experiences, or delivering a keynote, Brian’s goal is the same—to create moments that change perspectives and inspire possibility.
Because magic isn’t really about tricks. It’s about reminding people that the world is far more interesting than they thought.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
When I lived in NJ I was in the right place at the right time. Everyone wanted a magician at their kid’s birthday party. I still had to work very hard to deliver a great show and make it to the busiest performer in the state. Moving to PA to raise my kids was a serious difficulty. No one in the small town of Johnstown, PA was looking for a magician. Not only did I need to offer my services, I needed to educate the population about what I do and create interest in it. I began offering inflatable rides as side business as well. Both businesses grew rapidly with the right TV commercials and advertising campaigns. Moving to Florida in 2011 was the opposite problem. Orlando is entertainment overload. I had to fight my way through the crowd and be unique to grow. Then, divorce in 2017 hit me hard both emotionally and financially. I was unable to fully recover before the pandemic hit. With no one gathering, it all came crashing down and i had a bankruptcy in 2021. Building back up meant thinking creatively. I expanded into foam parties, bubble parties, and a whole new magic show, Magic, Murder-Mystery: The Experience.
As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
I have been a professional entertainer for 27 years. As a magician, I took an interest in the effects on the human brain of seeing and being involved in something incomprehensible. Sure, my B Happie show for kids is off the wall silly things but my close-up strolling magic and entertainment for adults sparked my interest in what’s happening behind the startled looks, gasps, and shock of seeing a great trick. So, in 2022 I wrote my show, Magic, Murder-Mystery: The Experience. The goal was to use it to break through the hardened shell of the adult mind. To create an experience that creates the curiosity to bring out the creativity. I still run Foam Happy (foamhappy.com) for foam parties, bubble parties, and bumper cars. I have B. Happie Entertainment (bhappie.com) for the magic shows and balloon art. My pet project though is doing team-building experiences to create coordination, creativity, and innovation in the corporate atmosphere.
Do you have any memories from childhood that you can share with us?
Playing in the woods with my best friend Karl. We would build forts, cross streams on logs (sometimes making it over) and pretend we were being chased by dogs. Running back through difficult turrain to our moms to tell our stories of narrowly escaping with our lives to our not-even-a-little-concerned parents. Those were magical days.
