Today we’d like to introduce you to Angelica Flagg.
Hi Angelica, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
I started The Kaleidoscope Effect Fitness Festivals (@TKE_fit_fest) because I saw two worlds I loved—rave culture and fitness—being misunderstood in completely different ways, and I knew there was a more intentional, inclusive way to experience both. After years of raving in NYC, Hawaii, Thailand, and Australia, then waking up to lead yoga on the beach, I kept thinking: why aren’t we doing this during the day?
Ten years later, after an injury took me out of regularly leading classes and I found myself craving something different than what existed in other rooms, I decided to create it myself. I had the audacity and didn’t ask for permission. TKE was created to shift perspective and show that both rave and fitness culture can be rooted in wellness, connection, inclusivity, and a space where people—and families—can fully be themselves.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Definitely not a smooth road and I think that’s true for most communities that are trying to create something new.
One of the biggest challenges was building something people didn’t immediately understand. Combining rave and fitness culture came with assumptions from both sides, and there were moments where it felt easier to fit into existing boxes than keep explaining the vision. On top of that, I started TKE after an injury changed my ability to regularly teach classes the way I had for years, so I had to redefine what leadership looked like for me.
There have been financial challenges, long hours, small teams, and events that didn’t go exactly as planned—but every challenge pushed us to become more intentional. Looking back, I wouldn’t trade the hard parts because they shaped the community TKE is today.
Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
My name is Angelica Flagg, and I’m the founder of The Kaleidoscope Effect (TKE): Where Rave Meets Fitness. We partner with local fitness and wellness businesses, artists, and talent across the Orlando area to bring movement-based experiences to unique spaces, creating events that blend wellness, music, community, and self-expression in a way that feels accessible and fun for all ages.
What I’m most proud of isn’t attendance numbers or production—it’s seeing people realize they belong in spaces they never thought were for them. We’ve created a community for ravers, families, and people who have felt misunderstood, proving that fitness can be expressive and that rave culture can be rooted in connection, wellness, and inclusivity.
What sets TKE apart is that we’re not trying to fit into traditional fitness or event models—we’re intentionally creating something different. Around here, you don’t have to fit in to belong.
Can you share something surprising about yourself?
Something that surprises people is that TKE didn’t start as a business idea—it started as an observation I carried with me for over a decade while traveling and teaching.
I’ve raved in places like NYC, Hawaii, Thailand, and Australia, and some of my favorite memories were the mornings after—leading yoga on the beach, moving with people in daylight, and realizing those moments felt just as connected and freeing as the nightlife experiences. Most people see rave and fitness as opposites, but I never did—and that perspective became the foundation for building TKE: Where Rave Meets Fitness.
