Daily Inspiration: Meet Sufia Huq

Today we’d like to introduce you to Sufia Huq.

Hi Sufia, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
Hello there! My name is Sufia and I am a wedding, elopement, and engagement photographer based in Central Florida! My photography journey started my freshman year of high school. I was very much an emo kid and I loved attending shows. Every time I would go see a new band; I would bring my camera. I instantly fell in love with capturing the energy from the band and the crowd.

I’ve always been outgoing and artistic, but it wasn’t until I got the chance to be creative behind the lens, that I realized photography was going to be my favorite way to connect with people. After freshman year, I decided to join yearbook. This gave me the chance to meet so many different people and allowed me to capture their high school experience.

After high school, I knew I wanted to always keep photography as part of my life. The ability to freeze a memory to look back on for years at a time is what kept me wanting more. So, I perfected my craft and started my business back in 2016. It has been the best and most rewarding decision I have ever made.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
As far as becoming the photographer I am today, the main challenge I had was developing my own style! I feel like it took me some time to be confident in the style of editing I wanted to portray. There are also a handful of situations where I had to learn to adapt or step out of my comfort zone. Which I am super thankful for because it is all a learning process!

Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I am a Central Florida wedding, elopement and engagement photographer. My version of storytelling involves genuine connections surrounded by vibrant nature. Embracing the greenery and nature around my couples is kind of my thing. My overall goal is to showcase who you are deep down, and what makes your relationship so wonderful.

We’d be interested to hear your thoughts on luck and what role, if any, you feel it’s played for you?
Not going to lie. I have had my fair share of bad luck at the beginning of my career. But I think back on it and realize it could have been avoidable. Like I said, this has all been a learning process. As for good luck, sometimes I am amazed at the clients I attract. I have met some of the most down to earth and genuine people through photography. I am forever thankful for my clients!
