Rising Stars: Meet Annie Wilson of Orlando

Today we’d like to introduce you to Annie Wilson.

Hi Annie, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I’ve been a content creator in Orlando for about 10 years. I started out on Instagram by posting about new merchandise and snacks in the theme parks. Many of my photos and videos went viral and were shared across larger channels like People, E! News, and TMZ. Eventually, I started to branch out beyond the theme parks. I grew my followers across my other social media channels by posting tips and tricks about popular tourist destinations in Orlando. Over the years, I’ve continued to promote hidden gems and unique experiences in Orlando as well as share my travels around the world.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Social media has changed so much over the years, it’s really been challenging to keep up. You need to be able to adapt and change with it. Years ago, it was all about posting pretty photos, but now it’s all about short-form video content. Instead of an interesting photo, you need a good hook in the caption to keep people watching the video. Another challenge for me was getting comfortable in front of the camera after years of being behind it. I started off as a “faceless” account and never posted photos or videos of myself. Over time, people wanted to see the real person behind the account. Now I’m someone people recognize for my content. I’ve even been recognized in Japan, China, Hong Kong, and France from my social media videos.

Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
I’m a social media content creator and live streamer in Orlando. I cover many local restaurants and attractions, but I also travel internationally to vlog about theme parks, hotels, and experiences around the world. I create content in Orlando daily, but I also share my best travel tips and experiences with my followers. Theme parks are my specialty, but I am always open to going on new adventures. Before becoming a theme park content creator, I worked for Walt Disney World, SeaWorld, and Universal Orlando. My years of experience as a Cast Member and Team Member have given me a unique perspective on the parks that sets me apart from others. Theme parks have always been my passion, so creating content about them is really a dream come true.

What has been the most important lesson you’ve learned along your journey?
Be yourself. People value honesty and authenticity.
