Hi Nicolette, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
Hi, my name is Nicki. I’m a wife, mother of three and the owner/manager of Four Corners Fit ‘N Fun. As a child I was very athletic and loved to play sports. Whether it was gymnastics, basketball, softball or soccer, I always enjoyed being on a team and staying active. As an adult I decided to focus on a career working with children. I went to college and earned a degree in Early Childhood Education with a minor in Psychology. I also earned my Teacher of the Handicap certification and enjoy helping children with special needs. My love for sports continued and during that time I volunteered as a youth basketball coach for several seasons. After graduating, I taught in the New Jersey public school system for 5 years and then decided to grow my family and stay home to raise my children. Seven years ago, our family decided to make the move from New Jersey to Florida, and we have never been happier! Central Florida seemed to have everything we could hope for, but it was lacking in one area. Indoor fun for little ones to run, play, jump and burn off energy. With Florida weather being so unpredictable with storms, humidity and sweltering heat the idea of Four Corners Fit ‘N Fun was created. We provide the surrounding areas with cool, clean, safe fun for young ones. Our 3600 square foot kids’ gym is the perfect place for your kiddos to burn off energy and get their wiggles out! Fit ‘N Fun is a family-owned establishment made with families in mind.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Opening a business is hard and there were many obstacles we had to overcome. The hardest part was finding the perfect spot for our gym with enough space to bring our vision to life. After two years of looking, we stumbled upon a great site in the Four Corners (South Clermont) area to call home and we absolutely love it!
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
At Fit ‘N Fun I work the desk, run birthday parties and teach all of our fitness classes too! Our gym is focused on keeping kids moving and burning off energy. Whether someone stops in for Open Gym play or comes in to celebrate a special event, I take pride in making sure all of our guests are happy, comfortable and enjoying their time at our kids’ gym. I love to interact with all of our guests, and you’ll often find me in the gym playing right alongside the kiddos.
What matters most to you? Why?
My top goal at Fit ‘N Fun is making everyone’s visit enjoyable. I want parents to be able to relax while they watch their kids play in a cool, clean safe space, and if they get the urge, join in the fun themselves. I want kids to be able to let loose and get their wiggles out all while improving their health and well-being.
